You could start by dealing with the people who aren’t doing their jobs in the first place. But every weak manager I’ve ever met loves to say “it is what it is” because they’re too lazy or incapable of actually “managing” the people they’re suppose to manage. That’s why the busiest people always get asked to do more because they show that they’re willing to do it that way no one has to “manage” the slackers.

By the way, they didn’t have to fire me because I quit. I remember the phone call after I submitted it because it was from one of my more favorite “it is what it is” guys. I didn’t even have another job lined up - I just had enough.
