A stupid mistake is sitting on your pencil, or backing up with out looking. Attaching live electrical wires to your nipples is not a mistake. That's just stupid.

I have compassion for his poor mother, who raised a dimwit.

This is what I thought, after reading about this. Truly sad that a man who IS a legal adult and not a child would do something like this. I only hope that the teacher really didn't encourage him and bribe him to do this.

The bottom line, as I see it, is that this 18yo ADULT is SUING OTHERS for his own stupidity. Where is his personal responsibility? Oh right, there is none, because it's ALWAYS someone else's fault.
