When looking at rental villas, I'd think twice about the Poinciana area of Kissimmee. I went to pick up a friend who is staying in a rental in the Crescent Lakes COmmunity in Poinciana last night. First, that neighborhood is REALLY dark and confusing and I had a hard time finding the house to begin with--I'd hate to be trying to find it in the dark after a long flight. Next, it's a poke and a haul from anything. There aren't many restaurants near there, and it took half an hour to get to DTD at 7:30 at night with no traffic.

The rentals there are definitely less expensive than in areas closer to civilization, but sometimes a few extra dollars is worth the convenience, and this would definitely be one of those times. Just my two cents.

I agree. We stayed in the Davenport area two years ago, and in the Poinciana area last year, and not only is the latter farther away, it is much more confusing and no as nice, IMHO.
