We usually fly out of Bradley but booked out of OHR this time because it was so much cheaper. Is this airport comparable in size to Bradley? Just wondering how early before our flight we'd need to be there? We usually get to Bradley about an hour ahead of time and that has always been good. Also, is the parking area a decent size? Will we have trouble finding a spot?

We've never had an issue with parking. Now, that could change with a flight going out, coming in every day vs flights every few days with DirectAir.
We usually get to Worcester (back when we flew out of there) about 90 mins prior, no less than an hour. Be sure to leave enough time to get there though. The route to the airport is the biggest drawback. It isn't quick...pretty much through the city and then through a neighborhood and up the mountain.

Thank you for the info! Have you been to Bradley? Would you say it's about the same sized airport?

I doubt you are going to have a problem with parking. There isn't much going on at the airport. That's why these flights are such a big deal.

It will take you a little while to get there from 290 though.

Mapquest is telling me an hour and 45 minutes from my house. The plane leaves at 7:20 on a Saturday morning. Im figuring on 2 hours to get there.

I would not think security will be much of an issues either as there will only be one plane at a time. Depending if they use the ERJ or the Airbus, a sold out flight will have either only 100 or 150 passengers on it. So it's not like you would be in the same line as 4 or 5 other planes or more at a place like Logan.

It is much smaller than Bradley. JetBlue's flights are the only ones out of there so it's pretty empty. Don't expect lots of food options. Usually there is one small, no name coffee/snack shop open, so if you like to eat while waiting for your flight, I would pick something up on the way. Parking has never been a problem, but that MAY be an issue with more than a couple flights out per week. As others have stated, it is not as easy to find as the major airports that dump you off the highway. You will be driving through a residential area and the signs are not big. So easy to fly out of though. None of the hassles of parking shuttles, security etc. Give yourselves plenty of time only to find the place. Once you do everything will be much easier than you are used to.

Wow, you are all a wealth of information! Thank you so much.

Yes, it is smaller than Bradley. And no, you shouldn't have a huge issue finding a parking spot. But...it isn't going to be like the old days with Direct Air. They had very few flights out a week. JB will be putting two flights, at least, per day...which will put many more cars in that lot.
Where are you coming from??? For the time you need to be there, about 6am, you probably won't run into much traffic in that area.

We are coming from Durham, CT....which, traveling 91 northbound, is about 45 minutes from Bradley.

I saw in an article today in the Boston Globe that said the service would be with 100 seats planes, so that means it will be the ERJ.

ORH is WAAAY smaller than Bradley. JetBlue will be the only airline flying out. The parking lot is small but it will accommodate the flights and you will be right there at the terminal - no need for shuttles.

The way in to the airport is on City streets, so you do need to factor in some traffic, but not a huge amount.

It's a beautiful airport and I am so glad you will be using it! We are so excited here in Worcester for this announcement and the addition of JetBlue to our airport! :goodvibes

Let me know if you need any more info, I live very close to the airport here.

One of our favorite places at night when in college!!!!

Oh, way smaller than Bradley and Green. I won't tell you what I used to do at the Leicester end of those runways. :rotfl:
Hmmmmm, wonder if it's like anything I used to do!!! Down by Spideygates!!

Kind of spooky when those planes came flying in right over your head!!!

Ohhhhh, not the Spideygates!!! They were spooky anytime, even in the daytime.
Where did you go to college? I grew up in Leicester (Cherry Valley).
