Woot! Updated to Include: TRIP REPORTS & Pics Included on First Post

Daviedude, she first told me she just pressed a bunch of buttons, then later told me she saw the word format :scared1:... Of course I, like you, instantly realized what had happened...:lmao: "Format is a bad word to see on a computer or any other digital device unless you know what you are doing... when you see that word, carefully put down the device, step away and call your husband..." :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

Yeah, you're funny all right....

IMPORTANT

If you have not done anything with the card since formatting it, DO NOT TOUCH IT.

You might be able to recover all the pictures, using an "undelete" utility.

But if you took any more pictures to the card, it's a whole lot less likely that you'll be able to get the pictures back.

(Yes, I learned this from hard experience, when the software I used to download pics to the computer decided to 1) FAIL to properly download to the computer; but 2) deleted the photos off the card anyway.

Lessons learned: 1) NEVER use the "Delete pictures after downloading from card?" option; 2) using the right utilities and a card-reader, you can recover from it.

Thanks for the tip Be... I was thinking the same thing about the undelete... the problem is that the card was originally formated on a PC and then reformatted in the camera. The pictures were technically not deleted, the card was formated... The PC formated the card in NTFS while the camera formats in Fat32... so I don't think the undelete would have worked. Also, we had to use that card as the only other one I had was a 6gb microdrive back at the hotel...

Hey pink... Are you reading this? If you have any questions about it we can talk tonight.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao:

Honestly, I don't think ANYBODY here knows what you are talking about! (well, maybe daviedude.... :rotfl: )

OK, back on topic.... ;) I am starting on a trip report, but am going to post it over on the Trip Reports Board rather than the VMK Board since it really does not relate to VMK much. I've already written Day One - A Day of Tears for Pink, but I don't know how to link it here... Help? Anyone? :teeth:

Yes i agree the undelete would not work unless you had some of the technology the FBI has LOL. since it was two different formats and thus once that is done all hope is lost!!! Its like taking bottle of soda and mixing it with a bottle of beer one the two dont mix well and two once mixed they are never coming back apart LOL In other words pink was in tears was a good title for day one ROFL!!!

I was lost after "Thanks for the tip Be..." :rotfl2: It went downhill for me after that! lol. Since when is "format" bad? LOL, I always thought format was something you changed in order to get the settings you wanted....lol. Maybe I too should stay away from any electronics lol....Yesterday I almost ruined my computer....oops! (luckily I have a dad who knows what he's talking about when it comes to anything electronic lol. He saved my computer's life!! :lmao: )

The trip report sounds like an awesome idea!! And to link it, just copy the address to that page and past it on a post here. Just like you did with the NH/Mass Meet. :thumbsup2

OK, I'm getting pretty "computer saavy" here. :) The links to my trip report are now on the very first post of this thread..

Thank you for those very detailed trip review! Very interesting :thumbsup2 .

The camera mishap reminds me of something similar that happened to us this past summer.
My sister (Loves Disney) had gone by herself into the Magic Kingdom with our video camera (first time we brought a video camera to WDW). She was gone for a good hour and when she came back she said the crowds were SO bad she had to practically squeeze between the people to get by. (did I mention it was also in the upper 90's that afternoon) Anyways, we then decided to watch what we had on tape so far, so we plugged the camera into the T.V. and started to watch. Well, we had a lot of footage of driving up to all the Disney signs and entering the GF, so by the time we had to head off again, we were unable to get to part at the MK. We turned off the camera and left. Next day, we picked up the camera and were taping things around the resort (mostly from the balconies). We got this real long bit of two ducks walking near the water (don't ask me why we were taping ducks while at WDW, I still question it today). Then, that night we taped Wishes from our balcony. It came out really nice too! The next day, we decided to finish watching what we had on the tape, so we plugged it in and right when it got to the part before the MK bit, ducks came up!!! We had TAPED OVER MAGIC KINGDOM WITH DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole trip my sister made into the MK in 90 degree weather was a total waste, all because someone :rolleyes2 forgot to fast foward the tape after watching it.

I feel your pain! It happens to the best of us :thumbsup2 .

You would have felt a lot more pain too had we not just returned from WDW... :rotfl2:

At least the ducks talked! :rolleyes1 lol. You know, Dis-Wiz, I had forgotten about that little mistake "someone" made... . And despite the shoulder to shoulder, back to back cramping in Frontierland, and despite the temperature, I didn't mind *too* much that the video was replaced with ducks...lol. I believe I was more upset that we hadn't discovered this until AFTER we returned back home to lovely Mass. where we couldn't go back and tape it again!! My beautiful camera work of the Magic Kingdom was gone...all gone because an idiot forgot to rewind the tape!!! :lmao: (smooth move Dis-Wiz!) ;)

Don't you mean fast forward the tape? If I had rewound the tape, we would have lost EVERYTHING to the ducks!! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Pink and I can totally relate to that, not sure if she remembers but with oldest boy, I can't count the number of times one or the other of us went to watch something and did not forward back to the end before beginning to record again... I think that has to be one of the most commong things people do.
I have converted friends vhs tapes to DVD and sometimes they did not even know what they had done until i pointed it out... LOL
