Holy crap this rocks!!!
First Oregon Krispy Kreme store opens Tuesday
Krazy days: Krispy Kreme opens
CLACKAMAS - Oregon's first Krispy Kreme shop opened early Tuesday morning to the delight of doughnut lovers who camped outside, eagerly waiting for the first treats to roll off the conveyor.
Now two men from North Bend have taken their doughnut obsession to the extreme; they're camping out until the Portland area's first Krispy Kreme store opens Tuesday.
Nathan Helland and Alex Johnson spent Sunday night camped outside the new doughnut shrine along SE 82nd Avenue.
"Until I tried a Krispy Kreme, I wasn't a big donut fan," said Nathan Helland. "One might say that Krispy Kreme re-invented the donut for me, the original glaze. Nothing compares to it."
Johnson agrees, and explained his devotion to the doughy wheels.
"Everyone's good at something and I'm good at sitting, and I'm good at waiting, and I'm good at eating donuts," said Alex Johnson. "And I'm just going to show everyone that I'm the best at eating donuts and waiting for them. They're really good donuts!"
The pair drove up in a van to camp out, but they're hoping to get permission from Krispy Kreme to sleep right at the front door, so they can be first in line.
