Happy Anniversary to me! Dh just surprised me with the news (and a dozen roses) that he arranged babysitting at Grammys for our kids and time off work (any couple days he wants in Sept) for us to take a little "pre-trip" to WDW. See we have 6 nights WL, 3 nights AKL and a 4 night Disney Cruise planned for next year with our 2 kids. As we kept going over our planning DVD and researching we kept saying "oh it would be so nice to be able to get away a bit by ourselves there." So he decided as an anniversary present to give us that time. He's letting me make the plans (knew I would freak over the details if I didn't). So let the planning begin!! We'll go for 4 nights in Sept. I will now be getting AP's for sure. I got "the email" yesterday and am so thrilled that I actually get to put it to use!! Now I just need to figure out exactly when to go and where to stay. This is the very first trip to WDW for both of us (although being from CA we frequent Disneyland).

So any advice on when in Sept to go, and where to stay? I will probably go moderate or value, since we're still saving for our "deluxe" trip next summer, and transportation won't be big issue like it will when we have our kids (and strollers and diaper bags) with us.

Happy Anniversary!!! Well, they say that CSR is a moderate that feels like a deluxe, so I'd look into that. I also like PO FQ or R. The nice feature to staying at PO is the convenience of having the boat transportation to DTD, especially without the kids. They also offer a carriage ride which sounds nice. If you're able to get the e-mail moderate rate for 79.00, it'll be great at any of the moderates. Enjoy!! I don't know when to go - but I'd probably choose the beginning of Sept after school is in session again.

Thanks. I rewatched my planning dvd (resorts part anyways), and read some threads and am still soo confused. I think I'm finally leaning to one of the PO's.
