Only 34 days till I'm in Disney World! We just got our DME tickets in the mail and it was super exciting to see them say OKW instead of POP or another value resort. Don't get me wrong, I love my Value resorts, without them I wouldn't have gotten to take 3 trips in under 18 months. But this is our first trip as DVC members. I'm super excited!!
Just had to share :cool1:

This will be our first time there outside of the Sept/Oct season and I'm not really sure what the weather or anything is like in late March or what there is to do that we should check out based on the season. Any suggestions and tips are greatly appreciated.

Congrats on your upcoming first DVC stay!! If you think you are excited now just wait until you get there and they say "Welcome Home" I wanted to jump across the counter and hug the CM that said that to us on our first stay! Well to be honest I could hug any of them even on trips 2, 3 etc.
Have a great visit "home"!

I remember our first DVC stay. It was at OKW too and I was sooooo excited! As we pulled into the resort (we drove at the time) tears started forming. Sometimes I still get choked up when we arrive at our resort. I still can't believe that we are able to stay in the accommodations DVC offers!!!! Just love my DVC!! Have a great time and enjoy the magic!

Oh my gosh!! So exciting!! Congrats again!!

As if getting DME things isn't exciting enough, getting them when you are heading to your first DVC stay is the best!

Guess what?!?! The big folder that you get when you check in is different when you are staying on points and that, along with so many other things make DVC trips so different! Yea!!!

I can't wait to hear about your trip!

Congrats on your 1st DVC stay!!! I, too, remember our first time pulling into SSR. We had driven down, and it takes us 23 hours to drive, and when we walked in and they said "Welcome Home", I was so choked up I couldn't speak. It is such a great feeling.

We will be going down in about 28 days! :cool1: Got our ME stuff last week and was all excited. Since you will be going in March, be sure to hit the Garden & Flower Festival stuff at EPCOT. The topiaries are beautiful and such fun to look at. Last year we were able to attend twice. And we have always had beautiful weather in March while we have been down there. Hope it is beautiful this year too.

Have a great trip! :cheer2:

Got ours too. We go in 34 days too. 1st night at AKV and then 3 nights at BLT. First stay at BLT. Can't wait.:cool1:

What's in the folder when you check in?

I think other than the Portable Perks pamphlet for DVC members and the Community Hall events schedule it is pretty much the same....but the folder itself is different...it doesn't have the castle on it, it has a Welcome Home flair to it :)

We had always stayed at values. Our first DVC was a split stay at OKW and AKL, it was sooo nice. I don't think we can go back to value's anymore ;)

That first "Welcome Home" is always the most memorable :cloud9: I remember tearing up too....so weird....but I was so happy :lmao: Once you have stayed DVC there's no looking back (believe me you'll know what I mean when your at MK and you look at the bus line up for the All Stars and your the only ones in line at your stop.....sounds weird but it's a relief). Enjoy ever moment and make sure to take time to spend at your DVC resort too......especially OKW....super relaxing :cloud9: Enjoy :thumbsup2

we stayed at SSR in 2009 bc wegot a free upgrade from POP. The next trip we took was to POP and we still loved it, but omg the bus lines.... I'm hoping OKW will have short lines as well coming home from the parks.

Don't forget to eat at Olivia's on your first visit to OKW. We make it our first meal at WDW when we stay at OKW. All the food is wonderful, but we especialy enjoy breakfast there! The key lime pie is not to be missed either. We have been members since 1992 so OKW is our home resort. It is still magical after all these years. Enjoy your trip and Welcome Home!

Stayed at OKW last summer - very nice! I was with my BFF from grade school, so the studio was perfect for us! Enjoy your trip and have great weather! :goodvibes

Enjoy your trip, I am planning my vacation for next year and I am already getting excited!
