WOW, it seems "real " now! I just got off the phone with HIFS and booked a KIDSUITE/FAMILY VALUES PCKG for July 14-23, 2003.
Was given a quote of $159 nt for the FVP OR $139 nt for the Extended Stay rate. Seems to me that the $159 is a much better deal considering the fact that the kids (two DS's who will be 5 1/2 and 9 at the time) eat free and includes two free adult dinners. Naturally, I've learned from reading the boards here that if I should happen to stumble across a discount code/better rate they will honor it.

DH and I went to WDW (once each) as children .......This is our first WDW FAMILY TRIP. DH and I have been together for 14+ years and always said that for our 10th anniversary we would take our children to WDW so that is what we're doing! We celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2003.

We are so looking forward to this trip and between the numerous guides I've gotten, the many sites I have bookmarked and the phenominal info/tips I've picked up from these boards I am confident we will, not only have a great vacation, but we'll get the most for our $$$

Eagerly counting down the 400+ days ,

Congrats! We are taking our first family trip to Disney in just a couple of weeks and staying at the HIFS. I've heard such good things about this hotel and we can't wait!!! The kids eat free and the adult dinners was a big draw for us too, along with that free full breakfast buffet. Hope you have fun planning!

BTW, we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in June of 2003 too!

I don't think either of you will be disappointed in this hotel. We've stayed here each year since they first opened which I think is three years now. As I said in a previous post, we are staying at Royal Pacific this year first because of the great rate we received ($109 pool view) and second because I have teenagers who are not big Disney fans but LOVE Universal Studios. My husband and 8 year old are VERY disappointed that we won't be staying at HIFS and want to split our stay between HIFS and RP. I haven't done so yet but probably will as we really do love this place. It seems to me though that their rates have risen quite a bit this year. I think we only paid $79 or $89 last year. It's still well worth it though.

cool thats great!
my husband & i will also be married 10 yrs.and my daughter will turn 9 while we are there.
so this will be a special trip for the both of us!
we are may 3rd thru the 10th .
we are also staying at hifs for a wk.

I am staying at HIFS and I got a rate of 109 a night. Call back and ask for the Florida Lottery Ticket discount rate. You get 1 dinner free for your husband and yourself during this time and the kids eat free still. You just need to pick up a FL Lottery ticket (non-winning) before you check in.

Hope you have fun!

When are you going though? I had inquired about that(wish I had saved that e-mail, I've saved every other correspondence from HIFS) and was told (I think) something about it being valid for this year only? I'm gonna give them a call right now.........thanks!
Naomi

ADDED:
DH JUST got off the phone with HIFS reservation # and was told that they may/may not(she did not seeit being offered, as it stands right now, for next year) offer the non-winning FLA USA Lottery Ticket discount but IF they do run the promo again it will most likely NOT include the adult dinners(buffet). So, those of you going this year and taking advantage of the $109 rate you got a GREAT DEAL!
Who knows? Maybe IF they offer the $109 rate next summer we'll choose that even if it doesn't include the adult dinners.....we'll just have to play it by ear I guess!
So, that's the latest........

A friend of mine just got back and she loved it! We were going to stay at the Royal Pacific, but decided to stay here instead. Me, my Mom, and my teen son and his best friend will be going. We think this is a better deal. I'll probably go back to the RP with just my husband at a different date.

We're going in Nov. I booked the Mousesavers rate - 129.00.

If Anyones Mother or Father is 50 or over you can book HIFS at the Senior Savers Rate.
