Regarding the security cameras, they will only be outside and only show the same stuff that anyone who happened to be outside would see anyway. If we choose to rent out, we will be sure to disclose their existence as well as the "views," which would only be those necessary for security (no pool shots, etc.). . Hopefully, that will make most people comfortable enough with them. If not, my sense of security trumps it, and they can choose to rent elsewhere.

Yes property is fairly cheap and reasonable down here, just don't get sticker shock when you get your homeowner insurance bill OUCH is all I can say with that..... they get you on everything with that... I know I pay triple to what my family in NY pays and I have 1/4 of an acre of land as opposed to their acreage

Congrats!! We close on a town home in Windsor Hills the 2nd of July and we are so excited! Like you, we thought about it for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. Once we close we are pulling everything out, putting in all new furniture, carpet and granite in the kitchen. I agree, it is so fun to do the decorating!!! We just closed on our vacation Condo yesterday! - It was an REO - and vacant, so lots of work to do, but I feel so "settled" knowing I have my snowbird home confirmed. Of course it will probably be 15 years or so before I can be a true snowbird.
