Now it all starts again, the organising, the exitement, the countdown...How old am I? Well DW and DD are as exited so I don't care.
Just booked with Travelcity and seemed very reasonable, also upgraded to thier sunshine first, for almost the same price as everyones economy! We'll be staying at the Windsor Palms just behind Splendid China, if anyone has any thoughts on Travelcity and/or Windsor Palms it would be very much appreciated.

Another October planner :D The countdown begin's........

I went with TC last October in their sunshine 1st. It is top value for money. I am going again in Oct this year :)

What is 'Sunshine 1st' ?

Is it a type of first class? Do Travel City have their own airline then?

Thanks, I've never heard of this before.

Richard.

Sunshine 1st is probably best compared to business class as opposed to 1st. Big wide reclining seats 50" (maybe a little more) seat pitch. Better service as there are less of you to look after. Meals are the same as the rest of the plane. They clean up after you quickly & come round regulary to offer you drinks etc. If they are not around they don't mind if you ask them for anything. You get your own tv screen (not available for their economy). Priority collection on your luggage at the airport. Your own check in so no long queues, 40KG baggage allowance. The added bonus of getting your luggage before others is that you get to the car rental desk quicker too so you won't be waiting long there either ;)
They charter some European Aviation 747-200's. They are old but they are upto the job. I was very impressed with sunshine 1st for the price & that is why we are going with them again.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but can you tell me the approx upgrade prices for sunshine first. It sounds very good, especially the 50"+ of legroom.

:)

Thanks.

Richard. :)

No worries, ask away, thats what the board is for :)

Last year it was £199 per person return upgrade, this year I was charged £249pp return, still well worth every penny especially when compared to premium economy. Obviously seats are limited though.

One thing though, you will be flying to Sanford as opposed to Orlando international, it's about a 40-50 minute drive from Orlando but really does not seem that far!
Another thing is you have to book your accomdation through TC to be able to get sunshine 1st, some people do slip through but that is their normal rule.

Thanks for the information, Daywalker.

It sounds very interesting - especially the price!

Richard. :)

Thanks Daywalker, i think you've given me everything i need to know, my father in law flew into sanford a couple of years ago and said it was very relaxed, so looking forward to that as well.
Anthony.
ps how do i get my countdown going again?

No worries wilki, glad to be able to help.

It was our first time into Sanford last year & we really preferred it to MCO, it's not as busy, you only collect your luggage once too! If you have been to MCO you will know exactly what I mean!

Yes cattle and herding springs to mind.
Now you've been to Windsor Palms, is it as nice as it looks and more importantly has it got a bar for those relaxing evening drinks!!!
When in Oct do u go?
Anthony

Sorry wilki, I can't help you on your accomodation. If it looks nice I am sure you will not be dissapointed in Florida.

I go on the 3rd October, or around that date anyway! It's the 1st Friday in October, how about you?

We leave on the 12th, so you'll be nice and brown when we arrive...Not fair

Wilki,

I stayed in a villa with it's own pool on Windsor Palms last
October and loved it so much I booked the same villa for this October!

The resort is in a good location,it was very safe with security guards at the entrance. The community pool was large and never many people in it.There was a small cinema,a shop, basketball, table tennis, pool and a small gym.

If you do a search under Windsor Palms on this site you will get lots of other info on it.All positive so far I think:)

Thanks Karen
Thats exactly what i wanted to hear, when are you going in Oct, we leave this on the 12th and return 26th, i think.
Anthony
