I wanted to get it all out the way, we are going to be in disney on christmas day so I decided if I got it all done now I'd have more time to plan our trip LOL.

Well done Laura, I am impressed !!! So what have you been buying ?? I'm hoping to get mine finished by the end of the month too. Where are you hoping to be on Christmas Day ?? We'll be in Epcot, and I can't wait :)

my other half wants to do MK on christmas day, I did it in 2003 and dont remember the crowds being to drastic although I am slightly worried this time round! My plan is to go there early and if its too busy to cope with head for epcot. I cant wait either! :cool1:

mandymouse when do you fly out? we go on the 22nd from Manchester.

We fly out from Manchester on the 17th December.

So, what have you been buying ??? I am very nosey !!!

I usually get the rest of the family done in September but we were saving hard for Orlando so couldn't do it. I find that very frustrating. I have started now thank goodness in October. Only done 1 so far but working up the list.

Lots of things! Golf stuff for my Dad as he is addicted, got some really nice calendar book things that you record everyones birthdays in each month and theres cards in a slot for everyone in the month (kinda hard to explain but there really pretty) some cds and dvds for people. Clothes.....the usual kind of stuff! Cant mention most of the cool stuff as I'm not the only one that reads these boards! ;)

I have the same problem Laura, eldest DD floats around these boards too, so I have to be careful what I write.

Has anyone been to the Disney Store recently ?? Are the Christmas things out yet ?? Are there any nice Crimbo cards ?? - I'm after Cutie or Tinker Bell ones.

Thanks

I am waiting to go to the disney store too, might try and talk DH into it tomorrow :) I have bought some cards from M&S and some stocking fillers for Lucy and Martyn, But Martyns going to hospital next week for an op so will have to wait till we get back from there :)

Anyone tried the roboraptors yet?? I've heard they are supposed to be the big thing this year and want some feedback before I shell out!

I bought my first presents today! I got my mum a Robbie Williams calender and my dad some hankies which is boring but I buy them every year for him! I think I will start buying a few pressies every week to take the pressure off a bit, but I will wait to get some of it until December as its nice to shop when all the decs are up and the Christmas stuff is in.

I was exactly the same this time last year Michelle! Lucky you and Mandy (and anyone else going for Xmas) :) :)

Went to the Trafford centre today and got some bits :goodvibes Started buying cards but still got to get wrapping paper. I won't wrap anything till half way through December when i start wrapping with a glass of wine and a few chocs in the evening :)

DH wont even start thinking about Christmas until the last week of November and gets really annoyed about all the decorations etc in the shops and adverts on the TV.

I love it all so have to just keep quiet and do things when he is out of the way. I make all my own Christmas cards so that gives me good reason to do Christmassy things and he doesnt complain about them as he knows I need to get going early to get enough made. Any shopping is also done surrupticiously (sp?) when he's not with me.

It does spoil it a bit not having him share the excitement but it's better than having an argument which is what happens if I try and get him to join in.

Question for those going to WDW over Christmas. What are you going to do at home for decorations? I mean are you going to put any up at all? Are you going to put a few up? Are you going to take them down before you go?
I have decided that I am going to put my decorations up a few weeks earlier than usual. We are having a family Christmas meal on the 10th December as we will be in WDW at Christmas and other family members will be in Australia. I guess we will have to take them all down before we go. I might leave my wreath on the door and the ourdoor lights up though so it is not obvious no one is home.

At least he joins in in the end! My husband had never celebrated Christmas before he met me and even tho he buys presents now and joins in on the day its means nothing to him and so he doesnt get excited or care about it!

That's a shame. I could not imagine not bouncing off the walls leading up to Christmas :bounce:

How bad am I - well, when I first started going out with DP her mother invited me for Christmas dinner and then felt sorry for me so said I could come up in the morning and open my presents with them :) I chapped the door at 8am and woke up some sleepy heads :teeth: They were thinking I'd come up at 10/11am. Whereas I'd been up since 6am but knew that was too early :goodvibes
The inlaws now ask what time the troops got up at and how much earlier I got up at :rotfl2:
