Mmmmmmmm :goodvibes

I am really looking forward to Christmas this year. Last year we were at WDW and spent it at MK eating our Christmas lunch at Tony's and although we had a fabulous time nothing beats being at home for Christmas.

Over the last year we had a lot of trouble with some settees we'd ordered from M&S. The first set disappeared :confused3 and the second set were damaged by the delivery men  by then they had changed not only their delivery firm but their styles so we then had to start choosing all over again. :headache: When we finally took satisfactory delivery of the new settees, which incidentally we prefer over our original choice, they gave us a very generous giftcard for all the incovenience so I am looking forward to buying lots and lots of goodies with it. :thumbsup2

OMG I am SOOOOOOOO not looking forward to Christmas:sad1: (well not here in the UK ) we have spent the last 8 of them in Florida but unfortunately it looks like we are not able to go this year:mad:.

The thought if Christmas makes me feel really miserable as I just know I will end-up with a houseful for about 2weeks solid. :scared1:

I am really going to need some good suggestions as to how to help with my "non" festive mood:headache::headache:

I once read a Christmas post, I think it was on the US community board a few years ago. The lady on there said her family ate their main meal on Xmas eve which meant all the stress of cooking and cleaning up was done and dusted leaving her to enjoy Xmas day with her family and let the kids enjoy their presents.

I plan to introduce the Xmas eve meal when Alba's a little older, maybe 2011 or 2012 and then on Xmas day have finger food. This means I am not stuck in the kitchen cooking while daddy is swearing while trying to free Barbie from her box and niether of us are spending time with our kids!

Selfridges have opened their Christmas store apparently. :santa:

That's an interesting idea :thumbsup2 I'm sure my mum would like that one :)

My friends do this, they have turkey and all the trimmings on xmas eve and on xmas day they just have a buffet with finger foods, most of which was made the day before and just kept in the fridge. I love that idea but unfortunately my DH doesn't

I haven't run it by Gavin yet, s'pose I should! He's not a big fan of roast dinners anyway so he'll probably be glad to get it out of the way!

Im really looking forward to this Christmas as it will be Megans first :goodvibes

Im really hoping to get the rest of the relatives presents out of the way and done early (i know that sounds awful :lmao:) so i can enjoy the festive season with Megan, looking forward to watching lots of christmassy films and taking her to a santas grotto even though she'll be tiny :lmao:

Our post office has some christmas cards for sale

our charity cards will be arriving within the next few weeks

4 months!

Cinnamon & Sugar Yankee candles are going to be on special next month! They are my christmas scent, so I am going to stock up big time, and then from mid-November my house will all be cinnamonny and festive!!

Think I need some kind of pumpkin one for halloween too.

I've not done any Xmas shopping at all, but it's going to be a small one this year.

Ooohh I like that top.

I am making a quick trip home in November to get stocked up on all the things that I felt we missed out on here last year. DH just rolled his eyes as he said my flight home would make it a expensive Christmas already. Old Scrooge :rotfl2:
