How do you get these ding airfares????? I'd love to be able to go to Orlando for less than $100.

Thanks for posting! I was just browsing today and had forgotten to check DING. I was able to get the DING for our Feb 3 outbound...saved $148 USD - every bit counts! Merry Christmas! Jo

How do you get these ding airfares?????

Just go to southwest.com and look for the Ding icon in the middle-top of the page. They have fairly decent instructions on how to install the Ding software. You may also want to fill out the form for the Rapid Rewards membership. You don't need Rapid Rewards to download Ding, but for a couple of minutes work, it may be worth it.

The Ding fares will be transmitted to the software you'll download. You'll get 'a couple' of emails from Rapid Rewards every-now-and-then. (I'd like to say once a week, but I'm thinking they're more frequent than that.) Regardless of the frequency, it's not a lot and this is one email I read from top to bottom.

Also, having Ding isn't a guarantee that you'll get cheaper fares. Sometimes SWA will come out with a Ding that seems to be sold out within minutes... I've said in the past that if you see a Ding fare that's a deal, get on it right away because in an hour it may not be there.

Jim.

Great fares, Jim ! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Congrats on your upcoming trip!

I've been ignoring my DING's lately because it's just too depressing to see the great fares and know that I can't go!

Flying with SWA is definitely the way to go, especially with the gas prices.

I'm trying to set up DING but it says I need a Zip code (it won't accept my Postal code) any ideas to get through this step?

I just checked system requirement and I can't download this anyways - I'm a MAC gal.
Thanks anyways!

Ditto:(
Sadly, I even removed it from our desktop. It's just toooooo tempting - even with a 12+ hour drive to Manchester! :teeth: :teeth:

Great fares, though:) Have a wonderful trip!!

>> says I need a Zip code (it won't accept my Postal code)

I had the same problem when I was trying to register, and I called the SWA Help Desk. The Nice Man told me to either use the zip code of a hotel near the airport (14225) or use 12345. He also told me to write it down beside my Rapid Rewards number. I vaguely recall him saying that they don't have any intention of making changes to accomodate our postal code (because they don't fly up here), but I do recall him saying that they have 'a lot' of people who are registered in Buffalo hotels. :)

Sammi: You must be taking non-stops both ways. On our return, the time that we wanted meant we have to change planes in Baltimore, so we have to pay a few bucks more for the fare to cover the security and landing fees. Still, it's such a deal it's hard to pass over.

We're going to take DME again this time, but this time we're gonna look after our own bags rather than letting DME deal with it.

We may just see you at the airport. We'll be the ones trying to look cool.

Jim.

mickeywho? when I registered for Ding I just used Buffalo Airport's zip code (14225) and didn't have a problem downloading it.Give that a try. ;)

Yes Jim we've got the direct flights as DH doesn't want to do a connecting flight and wants to get there "as soon as possible" so we're going to stay over in a Buffalo hotel and leave the car there for the 12 days and head out on the early flight. We just couldn't resist the fares! :teeth:

We'll be the ones (hopefully) at the airport looking like we actually know what we're doing as this will be our 2nd trip out of Buffalo with Southwest. :wave2:

Now...on to try and find a decent car rental! :)

I'm a mac gal too so we had to download a virtual pc program in order to get the dings. My dh did it so I can't tell you more than that
