He'd probably kill me for saying this online, but DH works for a base salary, and gets commission on top of that. Well, he normally would, but in this economy, we haven't been seeing too many commission checks. It doesn't really matter to our budget, since I've made it my goal to live off of his base as much as possible, so that we can save my salary & his commission checks for over & above stuff.
Anyway, he just got a commission check for over $23k (and that's after taxes!)!! We're going to use that money to pay off the loan we took out of my 401k for our fertility treatments (yes, I know that's bad, but we needed quick $$ when no one was giving out loans) and pay off his car, so the only debt we'll have will be our mortgage!! WOO HOO!!
What's good is that, since we try to live off of his base salary, we can still pretend that we're making those payments, and save up for baby #2 and a new car for me/trip to Europe, so that when we go to do those things, we won't have a loan at all!!
