I recommend making dining reservations ADR's at Boma and Jiko. (dinner)

Maybe book a special fireworks cruise for the two of you.

Send him a gift basket or champagne to celebrate "you!"

Just live, laugh and love in WDW!

Be sure to eat at Jiko and Boma, both at AKL. Boma has a great breakfast buffet as well as dinner. The gift shop at AKL is one of the best around. There are so many unique items from Africa... pottery, art, carvings, etc.

When is your trip???? We are headed down in just over 2 months!!!! I'm sooooo excited, we only get 5 nights......... I'm jealous too!!!! It will be our first time at AKL......... I've booked Boma, I hear it's not to be missed!!!

Also, you must get some zebra domes, that is of course if I've left any!!!!! LOL

I've never been to AKL, but if I were staying Savannah view, I would bring binoculars. Watching the animals would be priceless!

Lucky you!!!! AKL is AWESOME and I can't imagine getting to spend two whole weeks there! Be sure to take advantage of the tour of the lobby art and also of the culinary tour (both are free). Very interesting, and a few samples of the yummy food served at Boma and Jiko! Be sure you eat at both. Several times. Also, Victoria Falls is a wonderful lounge, very subdued and dark and just very nice; the Victoria Falls Mist is sooo good. They also have a cheese plate that goes very well with some of their tasty African wines.

AKL for 14 nights? You will love it! Some think it's too far away, but I found that many of the buses just went directly to the parks and time wasn't a problem at all. You will have plenty of time to enjoy everything. Have fun!!

We prefer the savannah view rooms that overlook Arusha Rock area. I think it is the Zebra trail and Kudu trail.

When are you going? That might help with some advice on what to do. One thing for sure, though, is to be sure to go to Arusha Rock and take part in the Night Vision viewing of the animals. My DS6 and DH did that a couple times and absolutely loved it ...

We love this resort. Spend at least 7 days there once a year. This year we are staying concierge for the first time and I can't wait. Leaving in just three days!

Okay I am going to say that I am too jealous that you are going for two weeks, but very excited at the same time! How nice of him to surprise you like that! You may want to book something special for him at the GF Spa, like a massage, they even have them for two!

I heard AKL Savannah view is absolutely GORGEOUS!! I also heard something about a sunrise safari, but not sure if it's for everyone or just if you are conceirge, maybe someone can help you out with that. When are you coming? I'll be there in just a little over two weeks, but only for a week, but I'm still happy!!

Definitely make your ADR's ASAP!!

AKL!!! Savannah View!!! 2 WEEKS! I am so jealous! You are so lucky! I also think that sending a basket/champain/something to the room for your partner would be a great idea as a thank you for such a wonderful suprise.

Make sure you do the night vision goggles at AKL. Have fun! Dining is great at this hotel.
