Wonder's Panama Canal Repo 2011 - AND WE'RE NOT BRINGING IT BACK!

(Gulp)....15....days....! I'd love that much time on a ship...but not sure how to do that with vacation time. So...what day did you leave last time and when did you arrive? If the 15 days includes a 3 day weekend (hoping!) and a 2 day weekend then we might (fingers crossed) make it work. Otherwise....well, I'll be waving and

We took the whole month of May off. We flew from OR to CA, spent 3 days at DL, flew to Orlando and spent 3 days at WDW (whoa! DL and WDW in the same week!!), then brought the Magic back to CA and spent 6 more days at DL. Our month of magic! God Bless DVC!! Our stays at DL and WDW were with points. We had annual passes to DL and never expiring hoppers for WDW left from previous trip, so out of pocket $$ was not too bad for that much fun.

We took three weeks off. We left on a Friday drove to WDW, slept there, then drove to the port (we live in Florida). After the cruise we spent a week in California.

Guessing around early 2011. The most common rumor for the month would be February...

Anyone think the cruise could be in May ? We were on the May 2005 Panama cruise..it was a great month. Hoping for more of a spring cruise..alittle warmer..

I think there was some talk about that early on in this thread, and if I recall the reason was for safety reasons of some sort.

Nope. I think DCL has a contract in place now with CA port that starts way before May. This is not a take the ship to CA for the summer cruise like the last 2 were, this is a move her there permanently cruise. There was talk on this thread earlier and it seems pretty certain it will be Feb at the latest.

I believe I just read from a thread Andrew DEREK UK posted that it looks like the Dream will be leaving Holland in January - so I would surmise that the Wonder will have to be out of the way by then. No matter what I am hoping to be there!

Sign my wife Elizabeth and me up. We'll sail on DVC points and try to get a cat 5 or 6. We haven't sailed with Disney since 2002, and never on the Wonder or through the Panama Canal, so we get to do 2 new things. If the cruise is in February, the weather should be just fine for most of the cruise, except possibly the first day and the last day or two, plus potential for cool weather in the parks at either end of the cruise.

Waiting..... for the new Itineraries to be announced. I wish that they would change some of the ports on the PC cruise. I would love to spend more time in the Panama area. It's a long shot I know, but I would rather have a Panama stop than any of the Mexican stops.

That would be a pleasant surprise!

Doing the Baltic in July 2010 so hoping to still have a little money left LOL and also time from work!

I had hoped that it would be closer to summer for school reasons too but Ill take bethany out for this as the last one was awesome but im also hoping they dont go to Acapulco again but if they do I can always relax by the pool,no worries

Agree about Acapulco. We will make that another sea day. I certainly did not loose anything in that city so no reason to go there again!

Count us as another that would skip out on Acapulco and just stay on board. Probably just see the activities that are on board or just sit by the pool and play Carcassonne or some other boardgame. I might even take a photo or two ...

That sounds like a great plan! I wished I had liked Acapulco because I had looked forward to it but it was dirty and creepy to me , maybe that sounds strange but I just didnt enjoy it there at all . I know alot of people put that as a complaint at the returning cruisers party! I fee bad for people never having been but I guess seeing the fedaralis with the m16s in hand when I got off the ship made me feel uneasy. I heard this is a major stocking port though once through the canal.

One of my regrets though was not getting to do more fun stuff on the ship or have a day to do nothing but vedge so if they go there, then that will be my day.Or as Marilyn says we have a meet and make our own party in Acapulco on ship
