Wonder's EBPC 9/12/14 Who's Going With Us!

Popping in to say hi. Life has gotten complicated for me. Very busy at work and a very sick parent has soaked up all of my free time. I'm still watching the board from time to time but I haven't been able to be as active as usual.

I'm also on the hunt to find the actual pillow you sleep with. They are the MOST comfortable pillows ever! That along with the comforter... you can sleep for days!

Pillow: Made by Harbor Linen and are part of the "new Generation" colllection. www.harborcareathome.com or call 1-800-257-7858

Duvet/Comforter Insert: According to DCL "is an Aquaplush king comforter/duvet insert that may be found with an online search." Check out www.downetc.com. Also check out Amazon.

This info comes from my searching the disboards. Hope this helps.:)

Steve, good buddy, hope everything gets better for you and for your stepdad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your stepdad. How is he doing, well I hope? I know work can be a bear sometimes. Hang in there good buddy, it will get better. :thumbsup2

Hi David. My step-dad seems to be improving. I'm hoping that continues. Just a few days ago it was looking as grim as could be. Now, we have some hope.

As far as work goes, well... It's always there.

(Not exactly sure just what that means............keep a stif upper lip.............something my dad always use to say. I tried it one time and I think I got a cramp in my lip!!!):lmao:

Happy Friday everyone. My week-end is starting early this week. My ol' jollopy of a truck broke down on me on my way home yesterday. Had to call AAA for a tow. The clutch went out!!! We are not busy at work anyways, so my boss said to just take the day off!!!:woohoo::woohoo: Of course it is with NO pay!!! Oh well, no benefits for being semi-retired!!!!:sad2:
Hope everyone has a GREAT day today!!!:thumbsup2

Afternoon everyone!!

I have a question for all of you that have sailed on the Wonder or Magic recently. In the shops on board, do they still sell the propeller desk clocks?:confused3 We bought one back on our very first Disney cruise on the Magic. And, we didn't have it very long. It got accidently broken. It was my fault, I placed it on a shelf where one of the kitties could jump up on to. They wanted to check out just what this new thing was. When I got home from work I found it on the floor in many pieces. I was hoping to replace the broken one on this cruise, but I wasn't sure if they still sell them or not. They were not in any of the shops on the Dream or Fantasy during our cruises.

Hi everyone! I'm Olive and DH is Bob. We signed up for the Panama Canal cruise while on our last cruise. We have sailed on the Fantasy and the Dream so this will be our first time on the Wonder. We were having some second thoughts about this cruise, but after reading all of the posts here we are getting excited to be going.
We are both semi-retired and look forward to many more trips and cruises.
We have never done a meet or FE so would like more info on that. We look forward to meeting many new friends.

Sorry David I don't have and answer for you. Have you tried the Disney store online? They're supposed to carry everything you can buy onboard.

If not then maybe ebay.

I too would like to :welcome::welcome::welcome: OMD13 - Olive and DH Bob to the cruise. So, glad ya'll are joining us. Like Steve mentioned, I am sem-retired as well. I still work 3 days a week at my old job - 6 hours a day those 3 days. It's a rough schedule.................but someone has to do it!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao: My DW still works full time.........................she loves her job. NOT!!!!

If you are interested in joining the Fish Extender go to the first page, and on the first post is a link you can click on that will take you to a page to sign up for the fish extender. The fish extender is where you get little gifts, not expensive gifts, most people get something relating to their home state. And during the cruise you go around and give your gifts to all that have signed up to do the fish extender exchange. It is allot of fun and helps you plan for the cruise while we wait for the cruise to get here. If I didn't explain this to well, hopefully someone can explain it better to you.

So glad you are joining us Olive and Bob, look forward to meeting you on board the Wonder!!!:cool1::thumbsup2

We were on the Wonder in September. I remember seeing this clock before but I'm not sure which cruise it was on. I know im Not much help but maybe it gives a little hope.

We would most likely fly into San Diego from Boston the day before the cruise. What would be the best way to get to the port? Is there a hotel at the airport or should we try to get something closer?

I just went to the FE link on the first page of this thread, and it's a link for a FE for a Disney Dream cruise April 2013, not the Wonder PC cruise in September 2014. Did I do something wrong?

they no longer use or sell those clocks. They have become a hard to find collectible item...good luck!
I did a quick search:

The whole idea is to deliver ONE gift per cabin/person ONE time during the cruise. The type of gift is usually small and not super expensive (I have gotten some very nice and expensive items, but not usually). Cathy and I like to do our deliveries in the middle of the night - we use the time to look at the door decorations and generally enjoy wandering around the nearly empty corridors. We have been giving out music CD's we compiled, but have received a wide variety of items from "emergency" kits including all kinds of small items to a head teaser (of all the things!). Most of the gifts are either location specific (to where you are from) or Disney specific. They run a wide range within that, but sometimes are way out there!

The FE itself is usually specific to you and yours - small pocket hanger that can be secured to the "fish" outside your cabin door. The "fish" is literal, there is a mail hook that is fish shaped on the ships (on the Dream and Fantasy there are three different shapes depending on side of ship and where on the ship). We have just made a new one, we found two small carry bags and put iron on images of our favorite characters on each, they are available commercially but be sure to get one that is NO WIDER than 8 inches as it will block your door and could get damaged.

Welcome aboard!!

Shelljay, no you did everything correctly. Beverly, (aka DisneyMouseHouse), was kind enough to agree to keep track of our FE on this cruise. I believe she used this form from another cruise she was on. If I am not mistaken she is on another Disney cruise now. We can ask her when she gets back about this form. Glad you noticed this.:thumbsup2

Morning Olive and Bob. I believe Steve, who lives in CA will be able to answer your question. Donna and I are flying out a few says before the cruise to see Disneyland. We have never seen Disneyland, and we thought this would be a great opportunity to see Disneyland and cruise back home.:cool1:
