WONDERous adventures on the Panama Canal - 4/23/17

Not that we're antisocial but we like to sit as a family for dinner, without others. We're a family of 4. Is there a way to let Disney know we like our own table

You can call and request it. They will put it down but there is no guarantee that you won't be seated with another party.

Life has been busy!

We are technically early dining but need to call and change it to late, so I wouldn't worry being waitlisted at this point.

I need get busy on my FE gifts again! Got side tracked on a quickly planned trip to Paris ! We are visiting NOLA in a few weeks then I will be ready to focus on the cruise! I'm so envious of those who have cruises booked before PC

Does anyone think the Pirate night might get nixed and replaced with Frozen to match the new show?

I wish pirate night will get cut, but on the last two WBPC we have had both freezing the night away and pirate night.

Now you know they have to do something to entertain us for 2 weeks. Maybe Moana will be a huge hit and we can get something Hawaiian also:laughing:

I love pirate night. It has always been one of my favorites and I hope it never gets cut.Just finished new pirate costumes for my husband and I. We wore them for the first time on the most recent EBPC cruise and I look forward to getting many more trips out of them.

I hear you. Just after 15 cruises I want something fresh and new. Besides truth be told Jack Sparrow ruined pirates for me anyway. I am just so over it.

Looks like we will have some fun again. Does Kelvin know you booked this? He told me he will be onboard.
Yes he and Jelena were so happy we were going to do the PC again. We're all looking forward to being together for 14 nights, April can't get here fast enough. I'm ready to go into Old Town Catagena and get some more coffee! Kelvin is mailing us some from Spain to tide us over.

Our last cruise we surprised them all and just showed up! We were all crying and hugging!

This is the second post I have come across this week about coffe in Catagena. :) Was there a specific place or brand that you would recommend? Looking forward to picking some up, too!

It is the top coffee in Columbia Cafe Sello Rojo. It is dark but not bitter. They sell it at the port but it's $10 a bag there. Grab a taxi, not that expensive but don't remember exactly how much, and go to Old Town. There are grocery stores there you can buy it from. We paid $1.25 on sale a bag and we bought a whole case. We had coffee packed everywhere!image.jpeg

Thanks for the info! :) Will definitely be picking some up!

So cool about the coffee. :) I was hoping to see a coffee plantation or at least a coffee
bush in Columbia but it seems all the coffee plantations are too far away to be reasonable to visit. Old town Cartegena is different from the walled city that seems to be the standard shore excursion?

Ooh yea, I'm going to have a columbian coffee in Columbia. Silly I guess, but it's a long way from home in Canada.

Our hotel is booked and our air reservations are made. Now, waiting for the pay in full date, and we'll be set!!!!
oops! Need to book transportation to the port.......

Just found info that Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is set to premiere on May 5, 2017!!! Anyone else know this? Who's excited for a "premear" at sea? Now if only I can stay up late enough to enjoy this.

I've been looking forward to it since the dates were released! It'll be a hi-light for us!

Hey everyone, we booked this opening day but I just wasn't committed to it - since we've done it once already. However, after lots of soul searching, how can you argue with such a cruise?! We did transatlantic too once, but this is better for a bunch of reasons. We're now fully committed. Airfare and hotels are now booked. We'll be flying in Friday (almost missed the WBPC in 2015 due to fog at home so added an extra day in advance) and staying at the Residence Inn Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach for those couple days. I hope that's the Marriott Residence Inn that many people here at Dis recommend. :)

We've got lots of previous PC cruisers on board already I see, but I can try to help answer any questions anyone has.

To help with some excitement, how about a picture? One of the neatest ports I've entered so far. It was so surreal at such an early hour - just shortly after sunrise on a quiet foggy morning. Can anyone guess which port?
