Anyone ever do the Wonderland Tea Party? What did you think?

We are taking our almost 3 yo twins. They turn 3 at WDW. I was wondering if they are too young?

Any advice?

Tabitha

I took my DD for her 4th birthday in May. She really liked it. For 3 year olds though, I guess it would depend on their temperments. There was a 3 year old in with my daughter and her mom had to be paged. This little one was afraid when the Mad Hatter came out and she freaked out. If your girls separate easily from you and aren't intimidated by characters, then I think they'll have a lot of fun. If you do it, let the CM know it's their birthday when you make your reservation and again when you check in.

Unfortunately the Tea Party is for children ages 4-10, sorry.

Don't worry there are so many other great things for kids, try one of the princess breakfasts!

Actually that's incorrect. I have my 3YO booked for the Wonderland Tea Party next week. You do need to be 4 for the Pirate Cruise and Grand Adventures in Cooking. The children also need to be fully potty trained, and the adults are not allowed to stay.

I always thought it was ages 4 thru 10 too since parents are not allowed to stay.

This is what I read at allearsnet:

Wonderland Tea Party - A tea party (lasting one hour) for children, hosted by characters from Alice in Wonderland. Children will make and eat cupcakes, enjoy a story, eat lunch, and have tea with the characters, and make flower bouquets. Children who are potty trained and ages 4-10 may attend.

Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Available to all guests, Cost is $28.17 plus tax
Reservations 90 days in advance 407-WDW-DINE

But I did just read right here on the DIS:

Even children can experience some of the charms that the Grand Floridian has to offer in one of its most recent offerings, the Wonderland Tea Party. At this pint-size tea party, guests from 3 to 10 years of age will hear stories, have a little lunch and be entertained by some Disney characters known to participate in a famous tea party of their own. The children will take a “hands-on” approach to their dining as they finger-paint/decorate their own cupcakes and munch on heart-shaped peanut butter and jam sandwiches. Chocolate dipped Rice Krispie squares, and the Grand Floridian’s special brand of children’s tea (aka apple juice) is also served.

The “Wonderland Tea Party” is offered Monday and Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the cost is $28.17 per child. There is a maximum of 25 children to ensure that each child gets a lot of personal attention from the entertainment (Mad Hatter & Alice usually, but this is subject to change) and the recreation Cast Members.

So now I'm really confused!

My older DD did it when she was 5 and she enjoyed it but I've been waiting for my 4 year old till I know she won't be scared to be without me.

When I called (some time ago) I was told that all the "drop off" activities as well as kids clubs had a minimum of age 4 and potty trained due to FL child care laws. I called the GF btw not CRO.

I don't know why the Dis still has the age listed as 3 but I am quite sure that the minimum age is 4.

Hopefully Jel you have the name of the CM and all your booking information so your dd won't be dissapointed. When my dd's went they did have some younger kids who wanted to leave after just a short time.

I've re-cofirmed TWICE with WDW dining and was told the minimum age for the Wonderland Tea Party is 3. Maybe I should check again. I might also call the GF directly and check with them also. Thanks!!!

Just called both WDW dining and GF Guest Services and here's the response I got from both. CM at WDW dining looked it up in the computer and said it stated ages 3 - 10 could participate. I told her that I had heard differing reports stating that the children had to be 4 and she said NO, I have it right here in writing that's it's 3 - 10. Guest Services at the GF also confirmed for me that it is 3 - 10 for the Wonderland Tea Party. The CM stated that they did up the age limit on the Pirate Cruise and Grand Adventures in Cooking to 4, but the Tea Party is still 3. So, all of you with 3 YO's don't fret, as long as they are potty trained, they're allowed at the Wonderland Tea Party!!!!

Thanks for checking! I guess that website needs to update their Tea Party info!

Now it's just a matter of whether you think your child is ready to be left at the party.

I'm not worried about DS being left. Yes, he's never been really left before, except when we visited his preschool for the fall. He did fine there, and he's always fine as long as he has his older sister with him. She's 6 and will be going to the Tea as well.

That's good that they'll have a sibling...I was also giving that advice to the OP as well since she has 3 year old but they are twins and they have each other so it will probably be fine!

Hey, Tabitha, did you mom LOVE Bewitched??;) What a GREAT name!! I'm jealous!

Glad to hear I am wrong - I just didn't want to have anyone dissaspointed!!
