My 4yo DD wants to do the Wonderland Tea Party when we are at WDW in January. I called and got her a reservation, but I don't know a whole lot about what goes on at the tea party. Please help with some more info.

Hi!

Here is some info:

Wonderland Tea Party

Even children can experience some of the charms that the Grand Floridian has to offer in one of its most recent offerings, the Wonderland Tea Party. At this pint-size tea party, guests from 3 to10 years of age will hear stories, have a little lunch and be entertained by some Disney characters known to participate in a famous tea party of their own. The children will take a “hands-on” approach to their dining as they finger-paint/decorate their own cupcakes and munch on heart-shaped peanut butter and jam sandwiches. Chocolate dipped Rice Krispie squares, and the Grand Floridian’s special brand of children’s tea (aka apple juice) is also served.

The “Wonderland Tea Party” is offered Monday and Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. There is a maximum of 25 children to ensure that each child gets a lot of personal attention from the entertainment (Mad Hatter & Alice usually, but this is subject to change) and the recreation Cast Members. Parents are welcome to stay and observe the fun.

Hope this helps! :)

$24.99 plus tax. They take your credit card information when you make the reservation.

Thanks for the additional info. That's more than I found anywhere else.

Misti, are you sure parents are allowed to stay? I thought that was a "no no" at the tea party or have things changed? I just wouldn't want anyone to be surprised when they got there and were scooted out of the room.

Pat

parents are not allowed to stay but you are given a beeper "just in case" you are needed

Hi Pat! Looks like you got the answer you needed. I copied and pasted that info so I guess things have changed.

Happy planning! :)

Does anyone know if they will provid substitute food for a child with severe egg and peanut allergies? My DD loves "Alice the teapot girl" and would love the tea party but she has those darn allergies. Any help would be appreciated.

is her nut allery sever enought that she can't be around others eating peanut butter also? I am fairly certain they will substitute something else for her. your best bet would be to call the grand Floridian directly and aks them.

As long as she does not touch the peanut butter and then, say, rub it on her face or ingest it, we are ok. she rubbed some in her eye the other day and it looked like someone decked. This happened within a matter of minutes and stayed that way for several days. I also wonder if they can make up cupcakes without eggs. She has gone in to anaphlatic shock from egg ingestions, and while she knows not to eat cupcakes and cakes (birthdays are sad little affairs), she would like to be able to partake like "normal" children.

Thanks for your help.

I'm sure the Grand Floridian will accommodate you and your children in any way. My little cousins went to this Tea Party and they had a blast! Enjoy!
