Wondering what would happen?

If you check into a hotel and you just don't love it enough to want to spend 9 nights or so there and you wish to change hotels what would they do?

Would they let you know what was available? would they charge you more to move?

Was wondering what would happen if the hotel just wasn't working for your family what would happen. We are staying at AKL and we love the photos we see and are sure we will love it but we have a standard view room only AP rate room category they had open and we really are worried we will get a cement wall or have tons of people being able to stare in at us if we are on a low floor as someone told me they had happen to them on a different message board.

This is my grandma's last trip to wdw as she is getting to be to fragile to travel long distances and we want to make it special for her.

This exact thing has actually happened to us. I won't say which resort, but it was just not what we expected. We went to the room, sat down and looked at each other and everyone was making the same face. I walked back to the front desk and they were wonderful about it! We were lucky and not only was there availibility, but they found us an AP rate!

Not sure what would happen in that instance. But I know I would deffinately contact the front desk and ask for a different option. Hope your trip is truely special!

AKL is a fantastic resort! I really don't believe there are any rooms where you would look out onto a cement wall, or people could be staring in at you. I'm thinking hard but don't recall any situation like that. Even in a worse case room senario, there are so many places to look at the animals, and activities you will still enjoy your stay at AKL.

That is why DH and are now doing split stays for our long trips. Last year we did the first 3 nights at YC and LOVED IT and then went to the Poly for the last 3 nights...we were not feeling it, we missed the quiet atmosphere of the YC.

Last week we did another split, 4 nights at OKW and 4 nights at the YC, bother were fantastic.

Oct will be our third time doing a split, 4 nights at AKL and 4 nights at BW.

It is great because it when you check out of one resort you are kinda bummed...until you check into your new resort and say YEAH!

We try to do the Epcot resort area as our final leg of the trip since that is our fav park and we go there the most.

Thanks I am fine with a view of a parking lot I know there are overlooks I just worry we will get a room on the first floor or 2nd floor that this person told me about but if they are wrong then I won't worry!

I just would hate to spend the money, and have my grandma not enjoy herself. I know we will make lots of memories but we aren't focusing on the parks as much as we would when we go without her, but focusing on the small stuff that we can do as a family.

We had this happen last time. We were in a mod that we weren't excited about even when we booked it but for some reason it was cheaper than the rest of the mods for that time period.. who knows why.. We checked in and looked around the resort and absolutely hated it. We went over to our favorite mod for lunch that day and begged them to take us in! They had one room that opened up at the last minute so we took that and they didn't charge us the difference! So we got what we wanted and for cheaper- can't beat that.
