My daughter and friends will be visiting DLR later this month. She loves the Gumbo Ya Ya at Ralph Brennan's. She is wondering if it would be appropriate to order just the gumbo or maybe an appetizer and the gumbo, or would she be expected to order an entree also. What do you think?

She will be fine. Order what she wants. I have reservations at both Carthay Circle Restaurant & Carnation Cafe and plan to order appetizers at both.

She might be able to ask for a dinner size portion of the gumbo. JK is pretty good at being flexible with their menu.

My niece always orders just that as her meal!!! It's her favorite and she's not a big eater!

Don't feel like you need to order an entree. You are the guest and there is no minimum purchase required. It's not uncommon for us to order just desserts and drinks. Enjoy yourself and have a great time!
