Wondering about guides

Hi, just bought into DVC and waiting for closing to go through and I am curious about the guides. Are you assigned one with your new member pack or are you just left on your own. thanks

I bought resale first, I was assigned one. He has been great. He mailed me his name and phone number. I have bought from Disney since and just called him, did the transaction over the phone and he mailed me the paperwork. I have still not met him. I have sent him referrals, I give his name and phone number.
