This is my first attempt at a trip report so bear with me, I promise to do my best. This was a much needed trip for myself and DH. It was totally for rest and relaxation and definately not meant to be comando in any way.

Cast: Myself - 57 yrs old, total disney fanatic and great planner

DH - 54 yrsl old, willing to go along anything as long as I don't complain or nag

1/29 - arrival day! Check in at 2:00 at OKW went very smooth. Our first floor studio was ready when we arrived and we were anxious to check it out. Everything seemed great (just glanced around a little) then off to catch the bus to DTD. Did some shopping and then back to OKW to relax a little. We decided to grab a bite to eat at Olivia's. Very nice meal and a quiet relaxing time. THERE WERE NO CROWDS!

After dinner it was back to the studio to shower and get to bed early so we would be well rested for the next day. Well, the bathroom was not very tidy. There was hair all over the floor and the tub was not very clean. I wanted to call Housekeeping but my DH cleaned the tub himself and wiped the floor. (I always bring cleaning supplies) All was right with the world now and we were in bed by 9:30 pm

1/30 - Up early and off to MGM. It was a little rainy but not enough to ruin our day. People were complaining about the cold (67) but being from Pa we thought the temp. was great. We went over to star tours and then to Indiana Jones. There were no lines anywhere, how great is that? After that we went to Who wants to be a millionaire? By that time we were both getting hungry so I called DD and asked what was available in MGM. They told me that they had a table in 10 minutes at 50's Prime Time so we grabbed it. Got seated right away and enjoyed the atmosphere. Now, my husband is somewhat of a stuffed shirt and our waitress seemed to pick up on it and she really kept after him about eating all of his vegetables He really had a good time and loved the food. We both had the pot roast and it was wonderful. I highly recommend it.
I have arthritis very bad in my back and legs and it was really beginning to bother me so we decided to call it a day. Not very exciting, I know, but remember I said this was to be a very relaxing trip.

1/31 - We were going to the Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch today so we just took our time walking around OKW and getting to know the resort. We had never stayed there before so we wanted to see what was available. Great resort and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. By the way, I did stop by the Hospitality House and let them know about the bathroom being dirty and the insisted on sending someone out to clean it thoroughly. Fine with me, but I though I did a pretty good job. Needless to say we got fresh towels twice through the week at no extra charge. The lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe was very nic. I had the cobb salad and my DH had the rueben sandwich. Very nice place. The rest of our afternoon was spent at MK. At 7 we went back to OKW and made a little dinner for ourselves and just relaxed on the little porch. It was a nice evening to sit out and enjoy a few drinks.

I'm going to have to finish this later. We just got home at 10 this evening and it is already 12 (very late for me). So I will have to continue this tomorrow. I'm sorry it is so boring, but like I said before, this was strictly rest and relaxation.

Sounds good so far :thumbsup2

I can't wait to read some more ::yes::

I will be staying at OKW from May 21 - May 24 and am really looking forward to it, so Thanks for doing your report :teeth:

Sounds like a great start to your relaxing trip. Someday I'll have to learn to relax when I go to Disney ;)

Sounds fantastic ~ Can't wai to read more.

I enjoyed your report and am looking forward to reading more. We were at OKW last week for the first time ever. We thought it was a great place to unwind and didn't want to leave! It's nice to hear you enjoyed it too.

Well I'm back. Thanks so much for the encouragment to finish this report. I thought about bailing out after the first post but I'll give it my all and try to finish it.

2/1 - Today I did some laundry and just hung out at the pool all afternoon. It was warm enough to go for a swim and bake in the sun. Anyone you is hesitant about doing the wash if you are in a studio, don't be. The laundry room is super clean and the machines are easy to operate. Great way to spend time lounging around the pool. Later in the day we headed off to Epcot for some time in world showcase. I always love spending time in each of the countries. We had a 7:45 ADR at Rose and Crown. It was a beautiful night to enjoy our dinner outside and finished up just in time to enjoy Illuminations on the terrace. What a show. No matter how many times I see it I never tire of it.

Transportation - The buses from OKW were running great. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes and of course crowds were minimal.

2/2 - Today it was back to DTD for a little more shopping and some great ice cream sundaes at Ghiradelli's. The weather was beautiful so sitting outside with our ice cream was fantastic. I went to the pin store to pick out pins for my DGCH. They gave me a list of things that they wanted so I new it would take a good bit of time to find each and every on they had listed. Later is was back to OKW to change and get ready for Hoop de doo Review. This was our first time there and it was a great show. My DH enjoyed the food more than anything. He managed to polish off and entire bucket of ribs before he realized that I didn't have any. We asked for more and our waiter Dallas was quick to bring another bucket. Great food, great show what more could we ask for to the end of a wonderful week at OKW.

2/3 - Of course we had to reluctantly pack and be on our way. We drove down from Pa and it was a very enjoyable ride. About 16 hours. The only time we used the car at Disney was to go to Hoop dee doo. We drove to Fort Wilderness and then took the bus to Pioneer Hall.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and if you have any questions I will be glad to answer. I'm missing Disney already. Time to plan for our next trip!
