Just wanted to share my story from our trip to AKV just about a week ago. We were on the conceirge level and enjoyed it very much. We went on the sunrise safari and it was cool in the morning. I wore a light jacket and a sweatshirt for the event (the staff provided blankets) for the safari. It was a highlight of the trip. As the day warmed up at the Animal Kingdom park I took off my sweatshirt not realizing the lanyard which contained my room key and credit card and some money came off also. I didn't realize it till we came back to our room that evening. I quickly called the credit card company to stop any charges and told the conceirge, which gave me a new key and checked any charges on my cc. also. I gave up on the money realizing it was a lost cause. Then just a few days ago fter returning home, I got a certified package from Disney. Here someone had turned in the lanyard with the room key, cc. and the money and Disney sent it back to me! It cost them almost $7.00 for them to send it back and enclosing a nice note saying they were glad to send it back and thanks for visiting the parks, signed Kelly. I am truly amazed by this company and the honesty that was displayed. I want to thanks to everyone who made that vacation truly magical for family and myself. Thought everyone on the boards would appreciate the good news with us. Candace :)

What a great story. Thanks for sharing. And to think, people (I know in my case) question why we all return to Disney year after year! :thumbsup2

It's so nice to know that the majority of us folks do the honorable thing. So glad that someone turned your missing cards in and that Disney mailed everything back to you.

That's one of the reasons I love Disney. My son has dropped a couple things at Disney in the past and they always made it back to the Lost and Found. Disney is great like that...and the people visiting always seem to be a little nicer. Everyone's in a better mood when they're there and willing to go a little further than normal to help someone. :goodvibes

A few years ago, on our last day, we went to the game room at the Contemporary before heading home. About 4 days later - I couldn't find my wallet. I hadn't been out and needed it. I realized the last day I had it was the last day at disney so I called the contemporary and they had it and mailed it to me - money inside wasn't touched. I always think if I have to lose something - best it's at DW since it's likely you'll get it back!

I wish I glad the same luck...

I left my hat and a bag, with a Disney T-shirt in it that I bought at Epcot, on the boat from Epcot to DHS. No-one returned it and it never showed up at Lost & Found.

I'm happy to hear your items were returned as they obviously had more value than mine. I wish more people would post good stories like this one. Usually you only read negative stories.

Thats Great! Kudos to the person that found it! :thumbsup2

My niece lost her favorite lovie froggy while at DHS on our first day of our trip. We realized it while the bus was leaving for MK. The next time we were at DHS was 3 days later and Lost and Found there did not have it anymore, but they gave me the card to the main Lost and Found number. We never got around to calling it, but I did when I got home. I knew about where she lost it and on what day. The nice CM had me hold for all of about 2 minutes and was then back on the phone saying it was there. I offered to pay shipping, but they insisted. We had it back within 2-3 days later. No where but Disney!!!

Wow, that is great news.

Have you tried the morning Safari? We have done the morning one twice, both were highlights of each trip. Next time we stay AKV, we will have to try the evening Safari.

How was the Concierge level staff? On our two club level stays, we felt the staff could have been better, friendlier to the guests.

I'm glad you had a great trip and that your laynard with CC and Cash was returned.:cool1:

When we were at the MK in 2003, my then 4 1/2 year old nephew caught his foot on the entrance to the monorail and lost one of his sneakers. It was our last day at WDW. The monorail guys sent him back to Main Street to get a FREE pair of shoes to wear (Buzz Lightyear was his pick.) On top of that, after we were home, they sent his shoe that had fallen through on the monorail. THAT is good customer relations.

We did the sunrise safari and the conceirge staff were helpful but not overly friendly. I was impressed with the tour and the breakfast though with the sunrise safari and really appreciated the blankets. We are looking through the calendar for another date to go to the AKV and hopefully will get the conceirge level again.

Love your story.... I believe that Disney can bring out the best in people. pixiedust:
