DD has been sick for a few days. Yesterday I decided I had to take her to a clinic. I found After Hours Pedicatrics. It is in the strip mall at the corner of Dr. Phillips and Conroy.

This was a wonderful place. They are open seven days a week (including holidays). Each exam room has a TV with a tape running (we had The Garfield Movie) and a padded rocking chair for the parent. The doctor was great. It turned out that DD has bronchitis. I would definately recommend them.

To get there from Disney property, go to the Crossroads and head north on Apopka Vineland (CR536). Stay on that road until you hit Sand Lake. Make a right on Sand Lake. Make a left on Dr. Phillips Blvd (there is a light there and it is right beside Panera). Go north on Dr. Phillips until you reach Conroy. It is in the mall on the left.

No one wants there kids to be sick while on vacation, but if you need a place to take them, this is a good place.

Thanks for the info, I am printing this out and putting it in the folder I always take to WDW. Better safe than sorry! Hope your daughter is feeling better soon!

(I was fairly sure that Apopka-Vineland is SR535, but not entirely)

Alternate route for those who would prefer I-4 ... Take I-4 east to Exit 74, Sand Lake Road, make a left from the off-ramp onto Sand Lake. Follow for about a mile, make a Right on Dr. Phillips, and follow to Conroy.

It's a little strange. CR535 makes a turn to the left at the light just beyond the Crossroads. If you go straight, that becomes CR536 (Apopka Vineland). Very odd street systems here.

Thanks for the info. I have always wondered where we would take the kids if they got sick but didn't really need to go to an ER.

If you need a good dentist, mine is on 535 across from Walgreens - exit Hotel Plaza Blvd, turn left onto SR 535, drive past the Sheraton Safari on your right, and into the strip mall with Kinko's. Dentist is on the side street.

A little pricey but very high tech.

For those times that Smorbukk cause broken teeth or other emergencies!!! (or, if you just need to have an excuse to go to WDW - ie 'I have a dentist appointment - in Lake Buena Vista!!!')

:)

Thanks for the info!!! I've decided the way my kids are going this week, I need to make sure I note any and all urgent cares/hospitals, etc.... LOL!!

(DS broke his arm, the baby is sick, my DS-5 got sick Sunday and it was his birthday. He's still sick! They are either getting it out of their system now (let's hope) but I think I would rather be prepared just in case of more mishaps/illnesses!)

I totally agree!!! Our DS woke up our first full day at Disney World with a bad ear ache. We remembered seeing the clinic a few trips before and since it was early Sunday morning the only other option was the ER. They were wonderful, prompt and we were back to the CSR in no time. I would not hesitate to recomend the clinic to anyone!!! :flower: :flower: :flower:

We were in Disney may 10-17 and ds 21 months got a nasty tummy bug :guilty: and we were refered by the in room Dr we called to the Pediatric after hours clinic. it is a GREAT place. They were super friendly and very thorough. We ended up there for almost six hours (he needed iv hydration). They gave us take out menues so we could have food delivered for ds5. The tv and comfy chair were great(and by the way you can change the channel and there are different Disney movies playing on each channel)(that sure heleped with ds5!).Hopeing we or anytone never need to visit again but its great to know it's there. I think dh still has the # if so I'll post it if anyone wants it

Thanks for this info! We're leaving in two weeks and I am printing out these directions just in case. Kiddos getting sick on vacation has got to be the worst but it would ease my mind a little knowing that there is a good place to take them. Thanks again!

Thanks Peggy...sure could have used that info a year or so ago when just dd and I were in WDW and she got hugely sick. Lots of down time at the resort. I'll be printing out your directions and taking them with me. Do you have the actual street address for those of us who might be taking a cab?

Thanks for that info. I had to take my dd to the dr yesterday, so it's good to know of a place (recommended) that we could go if we had to. Were they really crowded or did they get you in and out pretty quick?

I printed out the directions, but do you happen to have their phone number as well? I would like to write that down also. Thanks again.

The address is 5018 Dr. Phillips Blvd. Their phone number is (407) 363-5753.

Thanks! Got it in my binder. Hopefully won't need it for anything, but better to be safe than sorry.

I believe they open at 5:00 pm untill 11:00 pm during the week. We got there a bit after 5:00 and were seen right away. The Dr came in right away did an exam and ordered blood work :sad2: and that was all done pretty fast.He needed two bags of IV fluids so that took some time but like I mentioned thay let us order take out and the room we were in was pretty comfy so it wasn't horrible. We were lucky to have one of the rooms with doors and walls vs a cutained one so I shut the lights and ds was able to get some sleep.
