Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Totally on my bucket list too! Glad I'm not the only one. My grandparents LOVED this cruise (with different lines) so much they've done it multiple times.

So today's list of cruise related tasks:
-gluing FE gifts (more!!!)
- gluing our clipboard (I have a yellow/white chevron clipboard for messages for my group.)
-running over to my parents and getting my suitcases...

Emily and I started freaking out that this is happening.

:laundy:I have to get started on my fe gifts.. Tomorrow for sure everything smallpixiedust:

My concerns are more that I want more than just plain meat, salad, and steamed veggies than I'm concerned I'll get gluten-contaminated food.I don't have trouble getting GF food, but I want to enjoy the food experience, not just endure it! :goodvibes

Hope this helps,
Richard
So I talked to Disney Cruise Line because I'm a foodie with a weird wacky diet. And I've looked at the different menus for the different days. For a chunk of the cruise it looks like dinner will be vegetarian. I figured for most days I will do cream of wheat (which I love when it is topped with coconut, dried pineapple, and almonds- weird I know) for breakfast meaning lunch and dessert will be my wild cards. Hope you find something!

I am new to cruising. Just one other 4 day cruise to Mexico Some of the same ports. I want to take full advantage of this cruise. Does anyone have advise for me. I think I have signed up for the fish extenders, need some advice on that.
My wife linda has dietary limitations also. No flour, wheat, potatos, or meat.

Welcome aboard!!

Advice? Read this thread!!! Lots of great information here, be sure to tell DCL about the food issues as you can see from this page alone - you are NOT alone! I am allergic to Juniper of all the bizarre things...seldom used in the US, but wouldn't you know it? The executive chef for DCL is German and loves it..so it gets added to a lot of the meats (sigh - I get nixed on the damnest things!!) Mostly - root beer and gin (eeewww anyway!)

Chris asked me to add you to the FB page (you are added BTW), there is SO much info out here...this thread really is a gold mine! On the early pages there are links to activities that are planned, as well as a link to what the FE is and a bit of it's history. I am not sure if Debbie (the originator of the FE) is on this cruise (haven't seen her post here or on FB, so I doubt it - her Dis name is EpcotKilterFan) But the overall idea is to have fun, relax and enjoy the trip!!

@ Pooh&Tinker....yea, somewhere! Actually on the Wonder they are the old in the bathroom, barely work, limited functionality things...bringing a travel dryer myself!

Appreciate the review on the dryer. I may have to bring my own based on your review!

I LOVE juniper and gin. They put it in meats?! Before my gut exploded my "go to" drink was gin/tonic... and everyone thinks I'm an old man.

I always take an American hair dryer with me much better that what is on the ship ttxx

Thanks everyone, will be bringing my dryer as the ones on the wall don't work for me. I was pretty sure since this ship has not done total makeover that would be the case. On the Fantasy the dryer is in the desk drawer and plenty powerful.

:):):):):)

I don't want you all to think we don't want to dine with y'all...but since there's 4 of us I think it's easier if we just sit by ourselves...I wouldn't mind a table near y'all. but when the tables get so big, you can't talk anyway, and we're doing the late seating and I think most of you are doing the early one if I remember correctly.:rolleyes1

:grouphug: I'm asking for prayers or good thoughts for our daughter Courtney who's going on the cruise with us. She's been diagnosed with SVT and the doctors are recommending an ablation be done to kill off the extra spot in her heart that's triggering the extra beats. We're just waiting to hear from the surgeon's office to find out when they're going to schedule it. :hourglass

:cheer2::cheer2: and today is our son Kristofer's 21st birthday...he's also coming on the cruise with us.:cheer2::cheer2:
My husband had cardiac ablation twice to eliminate VT. It is a simple procedure. He only felt a little warmth in his chest. We are looking forward to meeting you on the cruise. Susan

So neither my husband or I is on facebook.....Are we missing out on fun things being planned? Also I think I signed our family up for FE, when will we have info about that. (like how do I know for sure I signed up so that I can begin getting things together.) Sorry, its our first time cruising with Disney and I want to take advantage of everything! -Megan

Everything is being posted here as well, but it does seem a bit easier to follow on FB. You might try private messaging the coordinators of the activities you signed up for just to follow up. You might want to consider doing a FB page but only using it for our group if you don't really like or want to be active on FB.

I sent you a request to be added to the Facebook page a while back. Is there something else I needed to do?

All the people who signed up on the Google spreadsheet have been linked up with others who wished to share tables in the dining room.

If there are others who still want to share dining, I think the best way to find tablemates is to simply put out a request on this forum or the facebook page. While the spreadsheet seemed like a good idea, it was frustrating not to get a response from those who had signed up but dropped out of sight without taking their names off the list.

I hope everyone who wants to share tables will find compatible dining companions.

Karen

:cool1: finally got good news, got excused from jury duty. One less thing to worry about. Recovering from a long illness 17 months but I am beating it. Rest take meds and rest hard because I want to do things but have to listen to my dr.
3 gifts done, one more to do.. Making small things so they will be easy for packing. Is it September yet... :duck:
