Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

So I talked to Skagit County Health Department- Travel. Apparently because I have Hep A and B already vaccinated for, and I am current on all my vaccines, unless I'm planning on eating something in the deep scary part of Columbia I should be fine. She said if we are sleeping on the boat then we don't need to worry about malaria. I'm still going to get some bug spray.

Thanks, that is really helpful. Yes, lots and lots of mozzie spray and also some antibiotics in case I in fact get bitten by one.

Hi All,

While I am waiting to get my FE group info, does anyone know what is the average number of cabins in each group?

Thanks for any guidance you can give.
Donna

There are about 10 cabins that are participating in all groups and then usually around 10 more on each list. So if you do one list it's about 20 cabins. If you do more than one you only have to count the "all" group one time. So I would figure 20 cabins on your first list and about 10 on each subsequent list. Hope that makes sense!

Ok, I'm probably the last one of y'all to come across these videos posted on the DCL website. But in case I'm not, click on the link below and see a short video on all of our port stops. (I'm usually the last one of the group to come across anything like this!!!) :confused3 :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Just click on the link and once there click on the tab destinations to see the videos of our port stops. The one for Puerto Vallarta doesn't seem to be working though.

Since I have not heard from the following people:

cmesq61
dennisbryce
TENNDVC

and see that they haven't posted to the forum, I can only assume they are either not taking this cruise, or they have made other dining arrangements.

I'm still looking for:

bbkeough

They are active on the forum, but they have not contacted me in response to my private message or public message here on the forum. I am going to be calling DCL on Saturday with the reservation numbers for the tables I have set up, and hope that if bbkeough is still interested in being linked up for dining that they will contact me before then. That will take care of all the people who signed up on the Google spreadsheet. If there are any others in addition to the people who originally signed up on the spreadsheet who still want to link dining, the best way to do it is probably to ask for responses from the forum at large. While it seemed a good idea in the beginning, the spreadsheet didn't work out all that well! :(

Thank you!

I don't want you all to think we don't want to dine with y'all...but since there's 4 of us I think it's easier if we just sit by ourselves...I wouldn't mind a table near y'all. but when the tables get so big, you can't talk anyway, and we're doing the late seating and I think most of you are doing the early one if I remember correctly.:rolleyes1

:grouphug: I'm asking for prayers or good thoughts for our daughter Courtney who's going on the cruise with us. She's been diagnosed with SVT and the doctors are recommending an ablation be done to kill off the extra spot in her heart that's triggering the extra beats. We're just waiting to hear from the surgeon's office to find out when they're going to schedule it. :hourglass

:cheer2::cheer2: and today is our son Kristofer's 21st birthday...he's also coming on the cruise with us.:cheer2::cheer2:

Hello, my eldest son (not going on cruise) had the same thing and had this procedure done 3 years ago and hasn't had any problems since. If you or your daughter have any questions for me or him just PM me and I will get you in touch. I know how nervous you are, I work in this field and was still a nervous wreck.
Praying for you
Rene

This has nothing to do with cruising but is a great story and I work with Jeff Babbit

This is cool. I've been on the bone marrow donor list since 1994 and I've gotten 2 calls in all that time but never made the final match and actually donated. Who knows, maybe someday I will also be a perfect match for someone. :thumbsup2

Happy 21st arrival day Kristofer . Try not to worry to much about your daughter. Ablations are pretty routine procedures anymore. Risky, yes of course it is. Anytime they mess with your ticker it's risky, but much more common place nowadays.

I have read two different answers In many different places. So, my fellow cruisers help a newbie out. Are power strips allowed? What is the best way to get a case of bottled water on board for port calls? I appreciate your help.

Sending prayers and positive energy to your daughter. I also had a friend who had this procedure. It seems to be very common.

Happy Birthday Kristopher. Hope you had a great day celebrating!

As far as I know, power strips are not allowed on board (they post a potential fire hazard). As for the water, we load ours into a carryon with wheels and roll it on board with us. You cannot check it with your luggage.

I've just messaged Becky on FB about this.
