Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

ok - I have finally located my packing lists. I have a couple - one for a 32 day trip (slight overpacking done - 4 shirts were not worn, laundry was done) this trip covered Mexico to Alaska so the list included cold weather clothing. The second trip is a 23 day trip (no overpacking - one shirt not worn!) this trip was a transatlantic that ended up in Iceland (also cooler weather). These lists on on Excel sheets - I would prefer to not generally post them - so please PM me if you want them. I will share both - the first list includes all the misc stuff that one needs, the second does not! I am going to start working on our packing list for this trip soon. Please remember that we share some clothing - so the lists may seem a little "short" for two people.

Cayla has anyone told you that you are awesome?

We leave in 6 months and I am looking at an apartment today. I maybe moving out of my folks house. Scary. (There's no nervous smiley....)

THANK YOU, Cayla! This is very helpful. Now, to decide if it's worth carrying beer from Texas!

Gee, I'd like to think DH and I had SOME type of positive influence on our children. Guess we could have just left them run wild and do what they wanted when they were growing up since they would have turned out the same way. Live and learn, I guess.:confused3

Just pointing out that mine are pretty far from perfect (well,2 of the 3 are) and I thought I was a pretty good mother.; but, I'm wrong about a lot if things~

That's exciting! Good luck in your search!

Are you saying that those with 'problem' children ( not me, of course; mine are perfect) did a lousy job? Is it ALL environment? Nature vs. nurture~ the debate lives on. I believe people are they way they are from the moment they are born. You cannot change nature, alter it slightly-maybe- but not change it.

I'm not saying that at all. I've known both wonderful parents who have horrid drug abusing children, and kids that came from horrid foster programs that turned out amazing on their own, but being a role model doesn't hurt, and in this day and age where we reward failure, it's nice to see someones hard work pay off.

Just ordered a pair of Sketcher walking shoes and a pair of black pumps for dress ups from Zappos. Nice to know that if they don't fit or I don't like they way they feel I can send them back for free.:thumbsup2

AWWW Kim - you are making me blush!

Good luck with the apartment - and there is a scared smiley - look on the <more> list at the bottom! :scared:

And a very happy Monday to everyone out there in Dis Board Land.

I have a question. What size of bag fits in the space under your seat on the plane? As you can tell we haven't flown in so long..................I don't think seat belts were even invented yet..............you had to supply your own rope to tie your self down!!! I'm sure your carry-on bag is too large it has to be smaller then that. Thanks all for your help in advance.

Generally, if you think of a pretty 'standard' backpack size, or small duffel (something squishy) or there abouts, it should easily fit under your seat.

My carry on tends to be my Mickey suitcase (the rolling ones we all seem to have) and my "small carry on item like a purse" tends to be either my backpack or my school bag. I carry big purses. This time I am packing my Mickey suitcase as my checked in bag, my LL Bean weekender bag as my carry on item, and my new Marvel messenger bag as my purse. Hope that helps!

Ladies...if you like Vera Bradley stuff..Zulily.com is having a really good sale on them including the large duffel bag.:cheer2:

Thanks everyone for the help. I knew the carry on's were too big but just wasn't sure of the size of bag that would fit under the seat. Ya'll were a BIG help. Thanks again.

Guys big news (okay big news for me...) :

Yesterday the girls and I went shopping for cruise clothes and I accidentally grabbed a size 10... it fit! It fit! I may have had a full freak out in the dressing room that involved jumping up and down and crying. Comparatively I wore a size 18 to start this off with. So yes I bought the dress. And I may have tried on inappropriate 2 piece swim suits that also fit.

Hi everyone! I'd like to introduce myself & my family as we will be joining your cruise in September. I'm Cheryl, and will be traveling with my DH, 4yr old son, and 3yr old daughter. I am so excited to be going on this cruise! It's our first Disney cruise, and the kiddos first cruise ever. I'm looking forward to planning and vacationing with you all!

Welcome! Wow! A 3 and 4 year old on a two week cruise. Kudos to you. On our first cruise my kids were 3 and 6. The three year old did well and I had to peel my son away from the ship. He wanted it to be his permanent home.
