Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

I too would like to wish everyone a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Don't eat too much everybody. Save room for dessert!!!:cool1:

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I am waiting for Jet Blue to open additional dates so I can book our flight to Long Beach. I am thinking about staying at vacation club instead of Hilton, but I cannot try to book until February because it is not our home resort. We will fly SW from Orlando home.

We are waiting on Jet Blue and Southwest to open up too. I ended up picking up a lot of extra shifts this week and a lot that were time and a half. So I figure that's for cruise. The one thing I'm looking at and trying to remain calm is I'm seeing a lot of cute Black Friday sales clothes, and I'm like "that would be great for the cruise..." But I don't know what size I will end up being. So I don't want to be like "look I bought all these clothes in medium!" and then not be that. The frugal person is trying to save money and not buy clothes on sale... oy.

Awesome Thanksgiving here, hope everyone less was great! Starting to put up my Christmas decorations. It'll take me about a week to finish. Then it'll be back to work for me.

Started mine as well, need to finish as much as possible before the little ones get here tomorrow. We are having our family Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow due to work schedules and other in-laws.

Lots to do, lots to do!!!

And Friday we leave for Orlando for our Fantasy Western! .:hyper:

Just booked our flight. SEA to SAN $159 MCO to SEA $162 what sense does that make

There are a few reasons, but one of the main ones is that the airports charge the carriers fees- kind of like port fees on a cruise- and MCO must charge slightly more than SAN.

We had a GREAT Thanksgiving. Hope everyone else did too!!

We always put up our tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving. This year we bought allot of new stuff because most of our decorations have been around for a while now. So, we finally finished getting everything out today. (We got a small fortune in batteries this year!!!) Any way everything looks great. :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

We put up our decorations yesterday. Had to make sure they were all done by today. We are going to dinner tonight with some friends. When my buddy's wife sees all our light up she won't be happy. That means that my buddy will be hanging light tomorrow. Is it just me or is that funny?

Were putting up the tree thursday or friday

We started getting the house and tree done today- thought we'd finish tomorrow but got tix to take our oldest grandson to see a Disney on Ice tomorrow, so that probably won't happen; mailed packages to all over the U.S. yesterday, most cards went out today- except to Europe because I have to verify postage- and even got a card from one of my cousins in Italy already!
Kerstfan, would love to hear about, see pictures of Christmas traditions in your part of the world!

My grandparents are here so we bought our tree yesterday. It's standing up in the living room, but not decorated yet. I think that's the plan today, that and decorate gingerbread houses. The Thanksgiving stuff is put down, the Christmas stuff is up. I need to buy I think 3 more gifts.

I have only put up 1 tree this year plus some ornaments and things in 2 other rooms (I usually have at least 12 trees up and lots of ornaments etc. - in almost every room of the house!) and it's an 8 ft tree with all our Disney decorations. It's really hard for me when there's so many lovely things in the shops, but the reason we are so low key this year is that we are going to Disneyland Paris on Thursday for 5 days then on a cruise on the 21st which doesn't get back until Jan 2nd so it just didn't seem worth all the effort when we would hardly be home, but next year will be full blown Christmas again!

Has anyone got pictures to share, I love looking at other people's tree and decorations (sorry, I'm technically challenged otherwise I would post some myself).

I will be looking to buy plenty more things when we are in the US for this cruise as you seem to have so many wonderful Halloween and Christmas decorations to choose from.

I put up the tree, put the bright multi-colored and blue lights up only to plug it in and have half of them not work! So I had to undo them and run to Walgreens (because I live on an island and the closest Target is a half hour away.), and get more.... which I was hungry- candy cane lights sounded good (which is fine because the red lights give it a warm glow.). All this, with my grandparents here (who need a sitter and to lay off the Fox News- seriously if I hear about "liberals have it all wrong" once more...) and a snow storm coming in.

Nice looking tree kdeans1010. You did a great job on the decorating!:thumbsup2 I bet you are now singing, "Oh the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful, And since we've no place to go, Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!! Comeon ever one, let's join in and sing it too!!!

No, I was singing the "Let it go" song from "Frozen" (which why do I want to call it "Wicked"?). The pictures don't show I hide my "Star Wars" ornaments in the tree. There are a number of stars and "Star Wars" ornaments... we go to Hoth on Christmas.

One Christmas-y/cruise thing I'm trying to figure out is how to wrap my friends Christmas presents. I got them big sun hats for the trip.

I don't know what kind of sun hats you got, but if they are rollable--in the past I've rolled some up for my kids and shoved them into wrapping paper tubes and made it look like one of those large holiday crackers.
