wonderful meet at the poly yesterday!!!!!! thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this was to be a Podcast board meet? Looking forward to seeing everyone. Don't be shy, please come up and talk to us.

Yep that was the original Idea for sure!

We're doing the Single Digit Dance :cool1: we can't wait to get there!!!

Hi Folks,

As this is a Dis Unplugged meet......I thought it belonged on the Dis Unplugged Board.

I had to go searching for y'all.;)

Count John and I.

This sounds like fun!

Sorry for the confusion all. This wasn't labeled as a DIS Unplugged Meet so I thought I'd pass it over to the DIS Meets forum for more traffic. I apologize. :)

I know it's late to suggest this, but I was thinking about an easy way to do something for GKTW at our meet. Since most of us will be on vacation, I know that boxing stuff up or having to change money etc. would be inconvenient. I was thinking that if we just had a big envelope ready to mail, anyone who wanted to could just put in a check - even a small amount such as $5. would add up to a good amount since there are so many of us. Then we could mail it right from the Poly. If you think this is a good idea, I'd be happy to make a big Polynesian themed card we could sign and prepare the envelope. What does everyone think. Or if you think it's best to just keep this just a meet that's fine too - I'm easy. I'm so looking forward to meeting everyone!

Great idea! We did something similar and used a decorated can at the NJ Meet. Of course, it was themed to a certain icky fish bagel someone was challenged to eat. ;)

We leave in 10 days!!!
I was absent from the boards for a few wks and am now back...my 17yr son left for Marine boot camp 2 days ago so I was getting him ready...spending time with him...I'm a lil sad he won't be with us this trip but the funny thing is he graduates Nov 4 and has planned a trip for him & his friends nov 6-10...

I have read the whole tread again and many ppl have said they can't make it they will be at Epcot or have ADRs for 6 something....so do we and this is our last day...I couldn't pass up a time to see Kathy & Teresa again...T I will try not to make you cry but will update you on my son in boot camp....

counting down the days.....

you should be very proud of your son!!! i'm sure you are! :goodvibes :goodvibes looking forward to seeing you!!

Thank you for offering to Volunteer Kathy!! I will see what room I have to add some items to my suitcases!

Jason did our Online Check in last night! It's so close I'm hardly going to sleep at all for the next week!!! Wooo!

OK, just a week or so till our arrival, and now I'm really hoping I can make this. :)

Anyone......we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, and that Saturday is our "open" day, i.e., morning horseback riding over at FW, swimming, and just taking a break. We have a 6pm dinner reservation in DTD, so I really think we can make 3pm or so.

What's the best way to get from the WL to the Poly? Is there a direct boat, or would going from WL to MK, and then boating it over to the Poly be our best bet? We will have a car, and are driving the DTD for dinner, but I'm thinking we might not be able to park at the Poly?

Thanks!

Kevin,

Will you & John be sitting in the corner of the room, laughing away as Lipoa sings? If so please save a seat for me! :rotfl:

I am going to try my very best to attend.. this may be my first meet!

A suggestion- we should also toast the 5 year Anniversary of DIS Unplugged! :drinking1 Without it, this meet would not take place :grouphug:

As far as I know, you'd have to travel to MK first and then transfer over. :)

Thanks...that's what I was thinking. Then a light bulb went off in my head that said I think you can take a boat from WL to the Contemporary, then monorail it over. Mmm, have too look into that. :)

God I can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!

You can drive, park at the Poly.. tell them you are meeting friends and they will let you park for 2 hours and then you can drive over to DTD. It is a short drive from WL to the Poly but will save you time in order to make your dinner reservation.

I am just finding this thread now. Count us as maybes!
Joy, DH Kurt, DS 12 and DD 10.

I like the GKTW tie in too! Thank you to everyone organizing.

since you're planning on driving to DTD, it makes sense to drive to the poly, then you could continue from there to DTD...

i'm planning on parking at the poly....it's sometimes hard to find parking places there, but i'm going to try the poly first...
you could also park at the transportation and ticket center parking lot - once you've parked in the TTC parking lot take the parking lot tram to the transportation and ticket center and then walk over to the poly.....the poly is right next to the TTC - it's a 5 minute walk from the TTC to the poly..

if you don't want to use your car, then you could take a boat from the Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary Resort and then get on the monorail from the CR to the Poly.....

or you could take a boat to the MK and then either the boat or monorail to the poly..

but as i said, i plan on driving... :)
