Wonder, Waves and Wishes. 18th October 2009. Remembering the waves!

Last year we did one baggie for each room but we do not have nearly as many people signed up. What I might do is a bag for adults then a special bag for kids.

We also need to get room numbers next to names. I like to preput those on the bags so it is done and I just pick them up and go.

Have we worked out anything to let everyone know if someone's room number changes? We're thinking about trying to upgrade at the port, if something's available at a reasonable price.

How does that usually work? I know we talked about a group meet at the Sail Away party - everyone should know of room changes (and be on board!) by then, right? So, if you want to participate in the FE - you should make it to the sail away party. If you DON'T make it - then we should assume that your room number is the same AND you don't want to meet us.

Fair? :)

Hmm, well on our last cruise one person had a board on their cabin door and any changes were listed there. Everyone knew to check there before handing things out. That way only 1 person had to be told- not everyone in the group individually. It worked pretty well.

As far as the Sailaway party meet, we're planning on going if it gets organized, but are staying well out of the "dance party" section on deck 9! After last time we realized that party wasn't really our speed. We'll probably be up on deck 10 where we can watch and have fun but not be in the mad crush of kids and madness. :scared1: We missed watching us leave port last time and don't want to miss it again.

This is my first cruise and first time with the FE, so I'll just be wherever I need to be when I need to be there. :)

Are we looking at giving something that represents the states in which we live, or do we a theme in which we are planning. With work fixing to get crazy there won't be much more time before we sail, so are trying to finish up all the plans now. Any ideas or requests, we are coming from NC, so we have Nascar, Moonshine, or the Tarheels ( unless your a Duke fan).

We're coming from KY so we're bringing some things that represent KY. We do like Nascar. Maybe some magnets? I know what you mean about time. I have a trial at the end of September and then one a week after we get back from the cruise. I am working OT right now just so we can go in October.

Are you a lawyer? Or defendant? :) Hoping lawyer...me too...what do you practice? Or maybe "trial" means something different to you - clinical trial?

Sorry, I just realized that you asked me a question. I am a litigation paralegal, not attorney. I attend all of the trials.

I say we meet up before the sail away party. There is a little lounge area (I cannot remember what it is called) but on the magic they did alot of the family events like the veggie car races and stuff.

I am so happy. The day our plane is leaving, the plane got switched from a connecting flight to a one way flight. So instead of pulling the kids out of school at noon we do not have to pull them out till 2.

This is fine with me. Without looking it up, I can't remember what time the sail away party is. We hope to be at the terminal at or shortly after 1:00 p.m.

I talked to DD's teacher this morning about taking her out the Friday (16th) for the whole day and we're going to work together to get everything done before she leaves. The next week is fall break, so they usually take lots of tests, quizzes and have homework that week. So I'll need some R&R by the time we get on the board with my work and school work to be done that week.

New here to this! We too will be on the Oct 18 Wonder-wanted to get more info on the FE's. We've never done it before, but it sounds fun! How does it work, and how do we "sign up"?

Thanks!

Welcome:flower3: I believe that Matthew's mom is keeping an updated list for everyone regarding names, ages of kids and room numbers so that we can all have the final list September 1st.

From what I have read you hang a FE next to your door and then surprises are dropped in there by your fellow disers through out the cruise and one day you drop off a surprise in the other participating rooms. I think Bead Pirate posted a link a few pages back showing some items that they have received in the past.

We will try and make the meet but I'm ot sure what time we will get there since we are taking DCL transportation from WDW.

I haven't even thought about how to tell the school I am taking DS on vacation in Oct. It hasn't been a problem in the past but 6th grade might be a little more difficult, I'll find out next Monday when school starts (How I wish for year round school, but small town Iowa is still run by the old school farmers.)

I talked to DD's teacher today and she said she'll work with us to make sure that I can take her out that Friday. She may have to work a litle harder those other 4 days before, but it will be WORTH IT!!!

I'm okay also with the idea of having one person ahve a list on thier door and you have to check that list before delivering your FE Gifts.

That way, if some people don't want to go to the crazy part of the sail away party, they don't have to. I don't want to miss it - I would prefer being with all the craziness and kids dancing as my two are 5 and 7 and will love every second of that. :)

Wow - it took less than 2 weeks to get the kid's passports! I re-applied the same day and I haven't received mine back, but that was FAST!
