On the ship tour on embarkation day, do you get to see any "behind the scenes" areas? Or is it mainly just giving you a basic tour of public spaces? Thank you!
Not on DCL. Princess, Carnival & Holland America have it.
The only "behind the scenes" tour on DCL is the galley tour (may be offered on longer cruises and you have to ask if they are doing them). There used to be a backstage tour, but not in a number of years.
we were on the last wonder cruise through the panama canal and dcl did have the backstage tour. Appears they still do it on the longer cruises. Toy Story stuff was all gone making room for Frozen.

We just got back from a B2B Med/Trans on the Magic and we got to do a backstage tour (tickets needed) during the second leg. Our guide was in all the productions (the horse in Tangled)...great guy. The evening shows look so effortless until you see what goes on backstage...all the stuff, big stuff that they have to stow (and keep from swaying and making noise).
