Wonder - Sept 27, 2015 - Oct 1, 2015: Vancouver to San Diego

I initially booked a Disney cruise just to take advantage of an on-board offer when we did a Med Cruise on the Magic in 2013. I switched that place holder cruise to this one, to keep my deposit, discount, and on-board credit but wasn't sure that I would actually be sailing, due to DD's high school schedule. This past weekend I switched my daughter off the cruise and substituted my Mom. So the two of us will be joining you while DD stays home with her uncle and competes with her HS swim team.
Looking forward to our West Coast adventure.

So, is there any interest in doing a FE group for this cruise? We've got two sea days to distribute the gifts.

There is a group a bunch of us are in on that *other website* you aren't supposed to mention here *coughFBcough* and we have an FE group going there so if you are on *coughFBcough* search for our cruise there.

Hello Everyone I just booked this cruise. I am super excited. I have a lot of planning to start. Sort of a last minute thing, I have not even asked for the time off at work yet. I will be on with my husband and 2 daughters. Riley 8 and Taylor 5. This will be our second cruise. We are from the Seattle area.

Quick question about flying into Vancouver. Which side of the plane do you recommend sitting on for kids to see out of the plane, especially when flying into the Vancouver airport?

When flying, I prefer the North side or side facing away from the bright sun depending on the flight time. Easier to look out and much cooler without the glare.

Vancouver's airport has planes landing from the East and West directions. Hard to say which way you will be landing.

How will the weather be that time of year on that ship? I was looking at it, as the price seems more reasonable that other cruises like the four day dream or magic ones. But if the weather isn't warm enough to take advantage of the pools, and there is no mini golf, detective agency, etc, how does everyone keep the kids busy?

Also, what is everyone planning for the Victoria day? Any excursions?

Hi everyone. We will be booking this cruise tomorrow! We are very excited to be going on our 5th Disney cruise! We just did the California Coast in May and obviously didn't get enough so here we go again. It will be myself, DH, DD who is 7 and DS who is 5.

Wow, it must have been a good trip. Any tips to share? We have kids the same age, my DD JUST TURN 8 last week, and have a 5 DD. Who was out for meet n greets on you trip?

That's awesome, welcome aboard!! Any tips on this cruise, how was the weather when you came up the coast in May? Were you able to swim in the pools?

The weather here in Vancouver has been fantastic and HOT for the past several weeks (cooling down at the moment) but I imagine it's going to be a long summer so end of September should be good. Not sure if it will be warm enough for pools.

This is our first cruise, but are planning on taking full advantage of the kids clubs ;-) Not getting off the ship in Victoria since we've been a ton of times so can't help you there I'm afraid but it's a VERY safe city and gorgeous. I would book excursions on your own instead of DCL, they will be cheaper and just as good (from what I have read/heard).

We prefer the late dining. The first set of shows aren't as crowded so you don't have to worry about getting to the theater super early for good seats. We also liked how the would come to the dining room and pick up kids half way through dinner. We would just eat a late lunch or snack to hold us off till dinner.

We were able to get fast passes for the princesses, Disney Jr., Olaf and Anna and Elsa. I recommend getting the tickets the minute you walk on the ship because they run out fast!

Thank you! We have done the 5 day California Coast 2 times now. We love it because the travel is so easy for us since we live in Los Angeles. We take the train to San Diego and the flight is only 2 1/2 hours. It's nice not needing any extra days for travel.

In May the weather wasn't that great. Sea Days were windy and cold. Oddly the only nice night was for fireworks. Our last sea day coming into Vancouver was extremely rocky and it was drizzling when we disembarked. The kids swam while we were in San Fransisco but it didn't last long since they were freezing.

Yes the FE closes August 14th. Did you join our group on *coughhackFBcough* ?? Because that's where we have all signed up.

I tried looking for it there is it called something in particular? I searched Wonder cruise FE, Fish extender wonder etc.

DisBoard rules mean I cannot post the link to our group on here. If you search for Disney Wonder and the dates you should find it.
