i feel silly even posting this, but I'm so anxious that I can hardly stand it. I'm sailing out of Galveston on December 4 on the Wonder and will be in room 8574. Just curious if anyone has any pics of this room, or stayed in it. It's a deluxe family oceanview stateroom with a verandah! My family of five will be staying in this room for 7 nights. I feel sure that well love it regardless..... I mean it Disney! Right! How will I know if it's starboard side or port side? (I think I said that right... I'm also new to cruising.)

I've stayed in 8572. I love the location and the room. We did hear the deck chairs move around a bit in the early am.

Not that I have ever heard as long as we are at least 2 staterooms down from the elevator lobby. I have never heard the elevators on any of my cruises. I would not want a room that opens onto an elevator lobby just because people can be noisy way more than elevators. :rolleyes1

That stateroom shows to be about 4 staterooms up from the elevator lobby. You will be fine! Our stateroom on the Wonder last month was about the same distance from the aft elevator and we never heard any noise at all from the elevators or the elevator lobby. Occasionally someone's kids galloped down the hall like buffalo, but that's it.

Sometimes, emphasis SOMETIMES when you are on the starboard side and your cruise stops at Castaway Cay (since you're a DCL newbie, "Cay" is pronounced "key"), :) you can see CC from your verandah. It's pretty nice though your view from the opposite side of the ship would scarcely be slouchy. :tilt:
