Hi all, Our first cruise is coming up the 29th of this month. It being a New Years cruise a letter came with our cruise papers stating that we should plan on dressing up for new years etc. Has anyone here been on one of their new years cruises before? I just would like to know how fancy to go. Here are a couple of questions that I wanted to get a "final answer" to<G>

Do I understand that the drinks handed out at the sail away party are charged to your account? I just want to make sure.

For the four day cruises are the first and last nights of your dining rotation the same or is this not always the case?

The master chef menu looks great and so does Palos... any comments on one over the other?

Disney dollars can be applied to your account at the beginning of the cruise and then deducted before charging your charge card?
and if you don't spend all the DD you have there ( doubtful but you never know!) they will just give you them back? I know that sounds like a silly question...

You can go to guest services and get a print out each day of your expenditures..... and you can pay against them any of those days?

I'm sure I'll think of more..... I know, I'm obsessive!<G>

The New Year's cruise last year was AWESOME - it is probably our favorite. Disney does the celebration better than anyone --

1. Lot's of tuxes - unusual for the Wonder.

2. Drinks at Sailaway are not free - but the champagne toast New Years is - last year they were served in souvenir glasses.

3. Disney dollars can be given to guest services against your account anytime during the cruise. You can check your account when you want to.

4. Palo's is awesome - just make sure you do it - Master Chef was not all that exciting....

Er, um..isn't it the 28th? At least that's when I plan to show up..:smooth:

Thanks for the reply!

Only if you're going to be on the Magic! We're on the Wonder!<G>

Now, if we do Palo's, is the last night the repeat of the first night's rotation? or the last night's? I want to be able to go right away to make the reservations to make sure we get the night we want.

Can't wait!

Upon boarding, just go straight to your stateroom. They will have your dining information there for you. I thought I heard someone say that you could make ressies immediately upon boarding ship, but I was sure that they didn't start taking them immediately. Could have been a figment of my imagination, or the reason I had to take what was left. I ended up having to give up dining in Parrots Cay. I wanted to dine in Palo on my repeat AP night. The first and the last night of my cruise had the same restaurant. I think that is the way it always is. I considered doing that same cruise, but it was quite a bit more for our family of 4. Almost double.

Yes, you can settle your tab daily at guest services if you choose. I don't think I would give them DD's up front. I think I would just check in once a day and give them as many needed to clear the bill. They only charged my card once, but I only charged $454 (including tips).

PALO PALO PALO! DO NOT MISS PALO!
