Hello
It's not my first Disney Cruise gone on my first Disney cruise to Bahamas (Dream) any suggestions on what to do on this ship? Would there be fireworks?Any suggestions what to in Ensenada & Cabo. Party of 4 DH, DD10, DS6 we love the beach. Thanks

We were just on the Wonder in Cabo. We took a private water taxi out to the arch, then we had lunch at the most awesome taco trucks in a dirt lot behind a shopping center. It was super sketchy but in the best, OMG, please don't let me get sick but since the locals love this place, we have to try it kind of way. Then we walked over to the beach that the locals go to and there were no vendors peddling their wares. It was awesome! We needed pesos for our adventures...and pesos were necessary to use the private restrooms. There were no public restrooms.

We are going to Ensenada too in May on our first cruise! We'll probably do an excursion like La Bufarada and some shopping and tacos of course ;)

We've cruised into Cabo 3 times with DCL and we are also beach people. :fish:
There are plenty of water taxis where the tender drops you off that will take you on a tour out to the arch and drop you at a beach. We've done Lover's Beach twice. It's the beach by the arch where you can walk over the sandy hill to see the rough Pacific side. That side is too rough to swim in but the bay side where they drop you off is wonderful and has a great view of the ship anchored. The water taxis will offer a round trip fare and come back and pick you up at a designated time if you'd like otherwise there are plenty available to take you back when you're ready to leave. There are no services (restrooms or food) at Lover's Beach.

Another option we've done is to have a water taxi take us over to Medano Beach. It's in front of condos and resorts so there are options for food and drinks and restrooms.

The water taxis are pretty small boats and you have to hop out of them onto the beach and climb back in while dealing with waves. I think they charged about $10 per adult and kids were free but I would check with a few to get prices before you decide who to go with. They might also charge $1 per person "tax" to get onto the dock after you have hired them so you can negotiate that fee when you hire them. Finally, there are usually guys around that help you hoist yourself back into the little boat on your return and they'll ask you for tips.

We walked around and shopped in Ensenada and this October will probably just stay onboard that day.

Last year we were in Cabo and did a catamaran tour and snorkling. It was a lot of fun. Get on the catamaran right next to where the tenders dropped us off, cruised out to the arch then headed past all the resorts to a snorkling area with lots of fish. Got drinks and lunch on the way back on the catamaran. Best sandwiches ever after all that sea air and salt water.

In Ensenada we did a wine tasting excursion, that probably wouldn't be appropriate for your group.

How was the wine tasting excursion? I'm thinking of doing it this fall when we stop in Ensenada.

We liked it a lot. We went to one winery that was production size and had a nice tasting room with a private area for just the group then we went to one all organic winery that was very small with all outdoor areas for tasting and entertainment. They were very different experiences but we enjoyed both. We bought wine at both of them and were also given another bottle or two (can't remember exactly) as part of the excursion. I think we came home from that cruise with about 10 bottles. :) I'm not sure where you are from but the area was very much like our own wine tasting area about an hour north of the border in Temecula, CA. We felt right at home.

We enjoyed whale watching in Cabo, but it's seasonal.

We also did the Ensenada wine tasting excursion where we drove jeeps to the winery. Our driver (friend/passenger) managed to get us separated/lost from the rest of the group because he didn't like driving fast over the bumpy dirt roads (oops) but our guide found us eventually.

We booked a private sailboat charter. Fully catered, open bar, etc. So fabulous! CaboSails.com. Tomas was the bomb!

I wish Disney would train the whales to hang around at least until May. (Sarcasm alert, with maybe a bit of wishful thinking.) I guess I need to go to Alaska.
