Hi

We are considering the 4 night cruise, we have cruised with Carnival, which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Any comments on a Disney cruise with a 14 and 17 year old would be appreciated together with anything which will help us decide.

Thanks

Teens are all different, but I'll tell you my experience. We recently cruised with two 17 year old boys, one ours and one a guest exchange student from Hungary (living with us for a year). Both boys really enjoyed the trip. I made them check out CG the first night, but it didn't appeal to them, so they didn't go back. My exchange student enjoyed talking to all the Hungarian CM's and even toured Nassau with one of them on her day off. My own son enjoyed exploring the ship on his own, and also touring Nassua with his dad. They both said they would definitely like to go again some day.

I think they would both have benefitted from having a close friend come along, but that wasn't feasible this time. Also, 17 years old is a little awkward - possibly too old for CG, and too young for a lot of the adult stuff. We did take them to Palo's (they are both well behaved and well dressed!) and they enjoyed that.

If your 14 and 17 year old like to be together, they will have a great time. If they are outgoing and want to meet other teens, they will have a great time. If they like a little peace and quiet and finding a place for themselves, they will have a great time.

Have fun!

We did the four day this past June with our DS 9 and 7. We had never cruised before and we had a great time! There was plenty to do for everyone - the best day was the one spent at Castaway Cay. Could have used a second day there. From what we saw, the teens on the cruise had plenty to do and were all over the ship doing different things. The four day worked great for us, would like to go back and do the 7 day now. Good luck with your decision - I think you'll have a blast no matter what! ENJOY!!!!

Thanks very much for sharing your experiences, the 14 year old is male and 17 year old female, both sociable especially our daughter, I think from the comments I have had they would love the freedom of the CG at first together and then perhaps with their own friends. My daughter still speaks to friends she made in the teen club on our Carnival cruise in 2001, which is lovely.

Thanks again

Jessie :D
