Just back from our Wonder-ful cruise! My family has been reading trip reports for months and we really enjoyed them! They really had us excited about the trip. Ours is pretty long- We went to Orlando before the cruise and stayed a few days after. :cool1:

Crew:Jeff Dh 43, Me 33, Nick ds 9, Livvy dd 2 1/2

Flew into Orlando Mon. 4-11. Nice flight! Both kids loved it!!! Alyvia was a angel and stayed in the carseat the whole time! Rented car from Budget- My husband was in line for the rental car and my son and I were standing by the luggage (pretty far away from my husband) . I told my son- "Lets pray for a mini van for the same price!! God can do so much! Lets ask him!!". We prayed and I walked up to where my husband was- THe Budget employee said to my husband. "How would you like a mini van for the same price? " I said "Yes!!! Thank you Jesus!!" The employee said "Thank Jesus and ME!" . Pretty cool!

Drove to my grandfathers house in Bradenton- went to dinner than back to hotel. Next day went to beach and breakfast with grandparents. Back to their house to shower and then headed to Downtown Disney for some shopping. 120 mile drive each way but took forever with constuction- and getting lost!
Wednesday we went to Cinderellas Royal Breakfast at Disney (SO COOL!!!!) Just us 2 princesses went. It was such a special Mother/ Daughter time! The princesses come up to the table one by one for a picture and autograph! We are not into the autographs but got some awesome hugs and pictures. We Got Park hopper passes-so we went to MGM, Magic Kngdom and Epcot. We live 5 minutes away from a huge amusement park and go a few times a week in the summer- so we like to hit the main attractions at Disney. Rides are not a big deal to us. Most gf the time, the guys do their thing and us princesses do ours.
THURS. April 14- CRUISE DAY!!!
Arrived at Port at 10:30 am- Jeff dropped us off with luggage and went across the street to park- $10.00 a day to park. Checked in and got kids registered for kids club. Livvy got to be with the 3 and 4 y.o cause shes potty trained. YA!!! Buffet lunch at beach blanket buffet was so yummy!!!! Sat outside and saw tons of dolphins!!! Dessert was the best!! Wore swimsuits under clothes and went right to the pool!!! (rooms are not ready untill 1:30) Noticed Scoops was open so kids got ice cream. Nick was in heaven- Free (Yea right) - Free Ice Cream, Cheese burger, pop...... just about anytime he wants it!!!! Went to room and our gift baskets had arrived from Shirley at the Perfect Gift. Very cute baskets!! I had sent some things in the mail to her ahead of time and the kids loved it! Went to laundry room and threw a load in and pressed a few things for dinner. THere was only one other person in there( at least I am not the only one who irons on vacation!) Went to safty drill- took 15 min. - no biggie!!
Back to rotate laundry. Livvy fell asleep so Jeff and Nick went to get laundry and deck party. I got ready for dinner. Noticed my Flat iron was not getting hot right before dinner- Yep- It broke and i had crappy hair the whole cruise! Oh well......Ate at A.P- Room starts out in Black and WHite and slowly adds color through the night. Pretty cool. My appitizer was so good! Shrhimp/avacado roll- I loved it!Jeff had Roasted Chicken, Nick and I had Sirlone steak, Livvy had noodles, veggies, fruit and a smoothie. Jeff and I had a free glass of wine and the kids free smoothie the first night. I didnt expect that but our assistant server told us about it. Dessert was cheesecake and they brought a strawberry shortcake for us to share. Yummy! Kids went to clubs while jeff and I went to a shop. Left Livvy in the club for about 45 minutes- she loved it but was ready to leave when we came back to get her. Nick called us on 2 way radio after about 1 hour. He said the Mickey game show was boring and the other kid wasnt sharing the PS2. Orderd room service (had to check it out) Service is fantastic!!!!! Very fast and friendly. SInce it was FREE (I mean included) - we prob. took advantage of it more than we would of if we were paying everytime. I didnt know what the big deal was about the cookies- I thought they were a little over cooked everytime but the idea is cute for milk and cookies before bed for the kids. The ship had to turn around and go back to port because some one was sick. I heard a little boy was allergic to eggs and had a reaction- but you know how rumors are!!! THere was a ambulance, fire truck and sheriff waiting at Port (Of course I was loking out the window) . Hope the boy is O.K.

Friday-
Beach Blanket buffet for breakfast- YUMMY!!!! Kids loved the Mickey waffles!! Lots of healthy choices! Wish I would have made more! Delicious omlets!!!
Went to Mickey pool. CHilly cause it was so early! Boys went to arcade, I went to rainforest room, Livvy to club.
Ok- the Rainforest room- $15.00 a day- different steam rooms, saunas, heated chairs- I only did it for about an hour but it was really worth it. It would have been more fun with a friend to talk to, but my "friend" was in the arcade! Beach blanket buffett for lunch- crab claws, cold melon soup. taco and pasta bar- yum!! Couldnt get off the boat for Nassu till 2:00 because of the turn around the previous night. Went to Straw market- Del Sole (Color changing shop) , took ferry ride to Atlantis- $3.00 each way. FUn! Looked around- Jeff went in Casino for 10 minutes, than I did (brought kids). That was long enoght since we lost $50.00 each that fast..... Walked around alot. DIdnt make it to ship in time for dinner so we ate poolside (tacos, cheeseburgers etc.) Called to see if DH and I could get into Palos but than remembered his dress clothes were still at the cleaners. Oh, well- Next time!
Livvy went to club, guys arcade, me Spa...... sound familular? I did the rainforest again and I got the Ionithermi- lost 7 3/4 inches- (or so she said) - Ionithermi is a spa treatment that reduces cellulite." Electrodes are placed on the body and Galvanic and Faradic stimili are activited, propelling active ingredinets into the skin and toning muscles"
( i copied that from the brochure) Basically this is not a pampering treatment. She tried to sell me $369.00 worth of products- I guess they think if you can afford the $150.00 treatment- you can shell out $369.00 for products- (I can't) . Now I know whay they say to write "No sales pitch" on the form you fill out when you first arrive. Oh well- live and learn. THe girl who did my tratment was very educuated- I loved her!!We got along great! But at the end when i told her I was not buying anything- her true colors showed. She wasnt very nice and told me she would meet me in the lobby (never did) and bring me some water (never did) . I did tip her 15% -THis was before she "forgot my water and to meet me in the lobby) . The only reason I did it was because we had points from our Disney Visa so I thought it sounded cool. I had a seaweed wrap at home the previous week and thought maybe doing this so close to that treatment might make the cellulite disappear (WRONG ANSWER!)

We all went to Pirate Party. Had fun! A lady gave us a bandana since we missed dinner and didnt get ours. I had bought Nick a eye patch and earring but Jeff wore it most of the time. COuldnt wait untill the 11 Pm buffet since dinner wasnt so hot....... I was the first in line- GOt food and took it to the room since Livvy fell asleep and Nick was tired. Fahitas, Ham, tons of desserts!!! Literally got sick before bed from all that rich food.

Sat.
WOke up, went to Castaway Cay!!!! Disneys Private Island! It seemed like all 4,000 of us were there - People everywhere- Yet the lines for food, drinks and photo oppertunties were never more than a minute or two. How do they do that? Ya!!! So fun!!!!!!!Chilly in the AM but we survived! Rented snorkle gear $25.00 for me, (Jeff and I took turns) - Nick had his so i paid $5.00 for flippers for him to rent. Good deal! The water was like bath wather! We saw some cute fish! I would ahve snorkled all day if they would have let me!
Fun! Fun! FUn! Took pictures with underwater camera. Turned out great! Stayed on island all day- Guys did those aqua bikes- loved it! We rented a raft but only used it for a few minutes. Buffet was yummy!!! Tons of fruit! Ice cream was awesome! I read all about these famous Lobster Burgers- COuldnt wait to try them- but when i ate lunch, I didnt see any. there was bbq salmon. It was good. Later on the way back- I saw a sign that said Lobster burgers! Came back to room to shower, dress and pack. Had to have suitcases by door at 11:00 PM.

Dinner was at Trintons. My appitizer shrimp coctail. Jeff got fried calamart. Livvy fell asleep at the table. THe guys and I all got Garlic beef tenderloin. As tender as a filet! Dessert- Grand Marnet souffle, cream brullet, and cherries jubilee. Oh- Nick got sugar free choc. cheesecake too. Our assistant server was Xenia from Russia- she was darling!!! I cant remember our other servers name- He was from Indonesia- very nice guy. Made us feel very welcome.
Went back to room cause Livvy was tired. Guys went to arcade and I orded room service for her and we watched TV. Servers follow you to a different dining room each night so you form a little connection with them. Cool!

THere was an announcement that there would be 15 foot waves that night- to secure small items. It was so bad!!!!! I could hear babies screaming!!! I was so afraid- and my family is sleeping (and snoring) through it all!!
I finally fell asleep about 4 AM. It really was bad. I am anxious to hear what others have to say about the movenment of the ship. Out closet door kept opening and closing all night.

THere was so much we didnt get to do. We didnt make it to any live shows on the cruise- we did see Beauty and the beast at MGM- so at least I saw something! I also wanted to see Ice Princess (movie) - My guys are not into it and Livvy is so little- I love going to Movies by myself- I just didnt get a chance too. 3 days was so short- I mean there is no way you can do everything. It was our 1st cruise.... We didnt rebook only because we like to do different things and go different places....... I am sure eventually we will go again though. We had a awesome time! We took 180 pictures over the course of 8 days- (180 good ones- those are the ones I did not delete from the camera!!)
And we bought photos from shutters- I downloaded the copyright release form today, went to walmart and got my copies made- So simple!!! 8x10's were $20.00 on the ship but a few dollars to get copies made at Walmart. Bought 1 8x10 of the family and some 6x9's of the kids with the characters ($10.00 each on ship- $1.45 at Walmart)

Sunday-
Way too early to disembark!!!! We were tired!!!! I was sad!!! DOes everyone feel this way ?
Didnt realize we needed out Birth cert. to disembark untill the second we actually needed them so i was searching through all the suitcases looking! Finally found them. Drove to hotel, unpacked. Went to outlet mall (awesome mall but too tired to shop) , back to hotel to swim and lay out. . Dinner at Jeffs favorite restaurant - Piachnos. Livvy was so tired! Alyvia will be 3 in August and it was our worst dining expirence ever!!! SHe was not happy and we did not have a fun dinner, but what can you expect? I mean- she didnt want to leave the boat either!!! Sat right in her booster and peed! Guess she told us!!
Back to hotel - watch TV, early to bed... Park hopping to do tomarrow!

Monday-
Animal Kingdom till 2:00PM. I love Animal KingdoM!!! Parade at Magic kingdom at 3:00- Epcot untill 9:00 PM. Took bus back to pick up car at Animal Kingdom - since they closed at 5:00 Pm - there was no tram service!!! We had a long, Long walk back to the car!!! (with no stroller since we rented one at the park)

Tuesday-
Our flight didnt leave untill 3:40 Pm- So we had plenty of time for shopping! Went to down town disney to pick up some last minute gifts. I didnt feel good so we took it slow. Returned rental car- Had a good flight to Washington but had a 3 hour layover so that wasnt too fun. We were so tired- we were all acting way too silly...... Ok- I was gonna leave this part out but I can't help it..... Livvy just got potty trained- At the airport on the first day when she was on the potty- It flushed with her still on it. Lets just say it was a very tramatic expierence! 9 out of 10 times the whole week I had to hold her down or else she wouldnt go..... Anyway- On the last day- Jeff offered to take her to the bathroom at the airport cause he knew I was tired of the drama..... He sat her down (oh- yea- she sits right down for him) - Meanwhile a guy goes in the next stall and passes gas..... Livvy says , (very loud) : "What do you say???????" How funny! SHe was waitng for him to say, "Excuse me!!"

We learned so much from these boards! I loved reading the trip reports! We would be bummed when a few days went by and there was no reports!

THere were a few tips I read on here that I didnt really think were important:
We had enough outlets so didnt need an extension cord (but than again- my flat iron broke) , People bringing a ton of beer and liquor to save money- We were so full of food the whole time we didnt drink alot.

My tip is not to pack too many clothes- I was worried that we'd have the same clothes on in all the photos- but who cares? We wore our swim suits half the time. We dressed for dinner but could have packed one pair of pants with differet tops cause we sat at our own table everynight and no one else paid attention to us anyway. I usually always pay attention to other people- clothes etc. But with 4000 people and so much fun stuff to do and see- I wasnt even thinking about how I looked ( Once again- flat iron broke) .
We did take those tiny crystal light packs to add to water- Just because we drink alot of it at home. I did take a notebook to sorta journal what we did but I usually do that 1/2 the time on vacation anyways.

Thanks for a great trip report!

Was that you on the floor in the customs line??? Our porter almost ran you over as he led us around your family in the line. Sorry if it was you!!!!

We heard that we had 25 foot waves on Saturday night. I wasn't sick, but the sound of the creaking cabin and the hangers in the closet sliding up the rod and back down, over and over, kept me awake almost all night. I should have just taken them down, duh! Getting up in the dark was an adventure, the trash can traveled all over the cabin with each rolling wave.

I was surprised at how cold the water was at castaway cay. I thought it would be like the 85 degree water in the Bahamas in the summer.

Three days was not enough time to do everything we wanted to do. Lauren cried a liitle at the kids club "graduation" on Saturday, she just didn't want it to end. We really ghad a great time, I'm glad to hear you did too! :sunny:

Yes- That was me on the floor!!HA! HA! I felt like an idot! I thought I heard someone say we needed out passports to get off ( I knew they were in my suitcase). I asked an employee if we needed them and he said "Are they in your suitcase?" I said yes and he said "You'll be fine!" . Oh well!!!

Ok- Free wine and smoothie- At our first night at dinner I ordered a glass of sparkling wine- THe assisatant server said there is a charge for that but you can have a glass of house merlot, cabrinet or white zen- complementary. SHe asked the kids if they wanted smoothies at no charge also. Of course they got them. It was a pleasent surprise and when i looked at out bill to make sure we werent charged- we were not.

When i put my foot in the water- I thought it was cold, but after i got in and started snorkling it was warm..... I think it was the air that was cold because when i got out, I was chilly!

thanks for the trip report.....I am anxiously awaiting my trip in two weeks!

Question: did your kids do the Kids Club when they were on Castaway Cay? Did they enjoy it on the island?

mbw12-
Nick (9) didnt really wanna do the kids club but said he would so my husband and i could go to the adult beach...When I went to check them in, the 3/4 y.o's were eatting lunch- so i fixed Livvy a plate and sat her down and she didint want me to leave. SHe got upset so i just checked her out right then, and ended up not signing Nick in. She LOVED the kids club the rest of the time. It was very hectic at lunch time- I know she would have been fine if I would have checked her in before or after lunch. THere was just too much comotion going on- (kids coming and going). I was so looking forward to adult time- (beach, lunch etc.) but honestly, it didnt bother us one bit that we missed it. We had a blast with the kids!!!!!

NickandLivvysMom that was a great trip report! You have me all excited now. My family and I leave on Aug.10, 2005 for our first cruise. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time. So you recommend keeping your birth certificates, pass ports, etc. in your carry on or in our "diaper bags"?) :earsgirl: Mandy

Yes- Keeping them in the diaper bag is a great idea!!!! Have fun on your cruise!

Thanks NickandLivvysmom for the "Great Report"

I really understand about your daughters fear of the automatic flush toilet.

My daughter is 10 and in November she discovered them in Disney World, she now, has a "deep fear" of them. :sad2: I had to hold her also.

Loved your report. We were on our first 3-day Disney cruise last Nov, will be going again this Nov. (NJ's teachers convention) then the following Nov 2006 for Thanksgiving, with our clan of 17. Hum......what have I started.

Will you be posting your photo's. We all would love to see them.

Thanks again for sharing.

Patricia :sunny:

Great report! Thanks for sharing your adventure. I really enjoyed the style you used, and especially the potty stories!!! LOL!!!! We've all BTDT!

As for the free wine/drinks, could it have been due to the return to port and late arrival in Nassau? A "sorry for the late arrival tomorrow" kind of thing? Anyway, glad your server told you about it!

Thanks for posting your Wonder Trip REport!!!! I'm so gald to read it!! We are on the Wonder for the first time....in 8 days!!! These trip reports sure are helping pass the time!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flower:
