My wife and I were on this cruise for our honeymoon and we had a fantastic time. Sure things were a little confused with regards to disembarking and rescheduling flights, etc but the cast members went out of their way to make sure everyone was looked after.
People were actually complaining about having to stay on the ship for two extra days!!!! I'm pretty sure a 6 year old can miss his/her first day of school without suffering permanent damage.
Everyone knew of the risks involved when they booked this trip. To my knowledge, hurricane season has been around this time for the last 100 years? or more. We were all offered a chance to cancel without penalty at the cruise terminal before we boarded the ship. Lets accept it for what it was, 2 free days aboard a great ship with a fantastic crew.
The only negative was the total lack of discipline people have at the buffets. We live by the "Take what you want but want what you take" theory so seeing people take 5 of each dessert for their kids only to leave everything behind was a little hard to watch. I'm sure the crew must view this as totally reprehensible considering the majority come from countries where food is viewed as a luxury.
Also, we tried to treat the crew as servers, not servants. Please be courteous, these people work like dogs to make us happy.
If you see Donovan and Joacir in the dining rooms say hi.
