Hi Rose,

I was going to shop for gifts today and it just dawned on me that I may need more than I thought. I had planned to buy two gifts for each person per day, one from Jennifer & Brad and one from Memaw(Tammy), Pepaw(Mike) and Lauren. Then I wondered if I should actually buy a gift from each person, rather than each group. It's fine either way...there's plenty of stuff in Honky Tonk Nashville! Please let me know the traditions of FE. Thanks.

Well ... I'm not sure what other groups have traditionally done, but you certainly don't need to get two gifts for each person in the families you are exchanging with every day ... That would be generous, but probably more expensive than necessary.

My last FE gift exchange just had a gift (I did a small gift sack filled with goodies) from each DISBoard Member's family to the other families each day. Just one gift per day from your family to my family. Since your family is the only one with children (Hi, Lauren!) so far, you don't need to get anything specifically for a little boy or girl, but when I make my gift bags, I will definitely include something for Lauren in yours. Does that make sense?

The FE gift exchange is just a little fun way to let other DIS families know that you are thinking about them throughout the cruise. Please don't feel like you have to shower us with gifts!

I'm glad to have you and Brena participating - Maybe we can get Ellen to join us?

Thanks for the information. We all had fun today picking out little things. Lauren helped too! I sent DD (Jennifer) a link to the thread and when we took Lauren home she had read all about FE's and was eager to participate! So she is definitely in!

Less than 68 hours until we can board the boat!!!!!!

We did some FE gift shopping yesterday (and saw Kung Fu Panda, what a great movie!)!!!!! I also looked for some Jack Sparrow mickey ears to wear on pirate night but couldn't find any. I did find a shirt for FI and I may stop try to find some eyepatches tonight.

Hi, Brena! It's good to hear from you again!
I haven't started packing yet, but I pretty much have our cruise outfits down pat and know what I need to bring (including the FE and all my door magnets) from the cruise we took last month.
I'm actually working on our Medical Release Forms and Itineraries right now to give to our family and friends that are watching our kids while we are away.
Our kids are older (13, 10, and 7), so it's not as difficult to find people to watch them, but it's still been over a year since we've been away without them!
If you can't find the eye patches (try a party supply store), they do sell them in Mickey's Mates on board.
We wear pirate t-shirts for Pirate Night and you will get bandannas at dinner to wear, also, and our kids have Pirate Mickey Ears (too small for me to wear!), but the Captain Jack ones would be nice, too!
I'm looking forward to meeting you and DH as well as Tammy and her family.

In just 24 hours, we'll be celebrating at the Sail Away (Bon Voyage, whatever they call it now!) Party!

All our clothes and other items (magnets, FE and gifts) are piled up in our room ready to be packed into suitcases.

Oh ... and don't worry about those eye patches. A little birdie (or was it a parrot?) told me you might be getting some in your FE!
