Well, we did the land/sea trip as a surprise for the kids. It was a great trip
DS14 was under the impression that we were going to Hawaii (he thought he had me beat but noooooo lol), and it wasn't until we showed him the little marquee at the airport gate that he realized that we were headed for Florida. He was not disappointed
WDW was lots of fun, and DS thought that we'd be going to Universal on 12/9 (teenagers ask way too many questions
), so when our happy limo guy kept driving and driving, the boy asks me, "Where are we going?", I said that we must have been taking the long way. NOT! Soon enough, we could see the ships off to the left. I motioned for DS to look out the window, and said, "That's where we're going!" He was really excited about it
We get dropped off and make our way into the terminal. Very nice. Goofy showed up for photo ops, and little DD3 got up there to have her picture taken. We got a cute one of her kissing the Goof
Walking on board was really nice. The Wonder is so beautiful! Our name was announced, and a CM pointed us in the direction of the buffet *burp*. After that, we went to the Oceaneer's Club and signed up the little one, then went to explore the ship a bit. We headed to our stateroom (6532), which was on deck 6 right by the forward elevators (no noise the whole cruise!), where we met our room host, Iketut. He was really sweet, and did a great job. We got towel critters every night, which the kids loved (we got a pig, a monkey, and a lobster).
DS and I went up to find Aloft (teen club), which became the boy's 2nd home. He absolutely LOVED it there! He signed in and went up for the first time after dinner. He hung out with a couple of other guys, did the PS2 thing, and several of the activities that went on there.
Bingo was going on right before dinner, so we figured we'd check it out. We didn't win any of the games, but we did win the diamond bracelet that they were raffling off. Talk about surprised! I took DD up with me to accept the prize. BTW, Marty was a fun bingo host (YEAH BABY! lol)
We had dinner at Animator's Palate. John and Herman were our servers. I personally thought that John did a good job, but was a little bit on the serious side. Herman was the family's instant favorite. He was such a sweetheart, and clicked with the kids right away
The food was good, too! At this time, the ship was rolling a little bit, and I was glad that I took my Bonine. The rolling was literally making me sleepy, and I dozed off a couple of times
Once dinner was over, we went to do some souvenir shopping before heading back to the stateroom. DS left for Aloft, DD was dead tired, and DH and I wanted to just veg. It was a really nice ending to a nice day.
I'll add more tomorrow
