Wonder 10/18/15 West Coast Baja Mexico!

I'd like to start a FE group here on THIS thread. Nothing to do with Facebook, strictly a DISboards group. If anyone is interested please post here and I will pursue that.

Thanks for taking on the FE list! Our two boys would love to participate. Our party is in two separate cabins but will hang the FE at 7102.
Ted (48) and Jamie (40). Zack (9) and Duke (7) - both love anything Marvel or Star Wars. Zack is gluten-free (but we can sort that out) and his favorite color is green. Duke's favorite color is blue.

Hey folks! I added the new folks to the FE list and I even figured out how to upload it as a pdf file! I'll keep updating it as we go. When do we want to cut it off so we all have time to put our gifts together.

I also removed the field whether alcohol is OK due to Disney's recent change to the alcohol policy as now it is a moot point.

I will defer to your best judgment for when (or at what number of participants) to cut it off. My kids probably only need a few weeks to put the gifts together.

Can you give us newbies some guidelines for the gifts? Are they for the kids only? Is there usually a cap on price? How often do we deliver to each person during the cruise - only once or more than once?

Thanks!

Certainly not for kids only! My partner and I love the FE and we have no kids. Up until the recent change in the alcohol policy, lots of folks would give the little bottles of booze in the FEs. Here are some of the gifts that I got on my last cruise.

This one had a beautiful frame that had colorful seashells glued to it. Also included was some Disney tissues, Frozen Fruit treats, a flashlight and citrus hand wipes.

This was a water misting fan and a frame that we could have taken to Guest services to have signed by the characters. They don't do the signing anymore.

These were chocolate chips with a note to add to coffee to make a mocha. I think we just ate them.

This was a CD with Disney themed music

And this was just a mix of gum, candy and cleansing products.

That was all in the FE on the first day of the cruise before lunch. This next one was one of my favorites, the Tic-Tac-Toe board was made of material and the Mickey Heads had Velcro on them. It was a pocket, so you could store the heads inside. It took me a while to figure out what it was. The coasters were homemade and a neat idea, but the drinks sometimes stick to them.

Other gifts have been magnets for the stateroom door, key chains, candy, costume jewelery and the like. I have given Disney coloring books with princess or cars crayons. It's completely up to the person also if you give one gift per stateroom or individual gifts for each family member. I have done both. Hope this helps!

Very helpful - I think you answered all my questions, thank you! So my wife and I will look forward to getting some surprises as well.

I was wondering if it was too late to be added to the FE groups. This is our 8th Disney Cruise, and we love doing Fish extenders.

Not at all too late! I'm thinking to cut off the FE around 9/15/15. That gives a month that to put together gifts. Any late comers we can make a late group.

Hello, everyone - latecomer here.

We're driving to the port. Does anyone have any information about parking close to the port? I've tried looking it up online and all I'm getting are airport parking or hotel parking with cruise terminal shuttles.

Here's a link to the Port of San Diego website page with nearby parking options: https://www.portofsandiego.org/recreation/cruise.html#parking

It looks like the first one listed (ABM Parking, 900 W. Broadway) is only a block or two from the ship. Glad to have you joining us on this cruise!

Thanks. After a bunch of searching I found a place. Just across the street from the terminal. Made a reservation, so as to be sure we have a place to park.

Hi everyone! We just booked today and we are so excited! We were booked on a Galveston cruise in early November, but got a special rate (TA - hope I'm allowed to mention that on the DIS) and decided to switch to this one since we can drive to the port from AZ - WOOHOO! Looks like there are quite a few AZ residents - very awesome! We live in North Phoenix.

Joining you will be me, Julie (29), my husband Blake (31), and our little girl, Allison, who will be 17 months when we sail! It's our second cruise, but our daughter's first. 50 days and counting! :yay:

Hi Everyone! I know there might be some of you who haven't heard about our group bracelets yet. I'm going to be placing an order for rubber bracelets so that we can all recognize each other on the ship! Am I allowed to put links to google spreadsheets on the DIS? If not, just message me your information. The cost is estimated to be around $1-2/each depending on the total amount we order.
- I haven't figured out how to accept payments from you for the bracelets yet as I want to avoid any transaction fees (ie paypal)
- Last day to sign up is September 25th
- Order will be placed September 26th
- Estimated cost is around $1-2/each, but could change depending on how many total bracelets we order
- Bracelets will be imprinted in black with "Cruisin' to Cabo" and "Disney Wonder 2015" on a 1/2 inch Teal band
1. Family Name
2. Stateroom Number
3. How many adult size bracelets?
4. How many youth size bracelets?

Let me know if you have any questions!

Just wondering for those who have been on disney cruise before...

1. Do you know the general schedule like, a formal night, which night? What is pirate night like?

2. Halloween, anyone else dressing up?

New folks, I'm not trying to be the downer police, in fact I think the DIS is a great place to hang out and discuss a lot of these things that have been brought up, but people should be aware of this policy. Many people who were on this thread a year and a half ago have been banned due to violations of this policy. I'd love for everyone to stick around, but keep in mind the moderators are strict about the following, and I quote:

"The DIS has been home to Cruise Meets for many, many years now.

We recognize that there are other options for hosting these discussions, but have begun to receive complaints about the way some of these options have been managed - excluding some members, private forums, argument about who is "in-charge", and meet discussions hosted by people not even on the cruise.

Threads for Disney Cruise Meets (including Fish Extender programs) are welcome here just as they have been since DCL began back in July, 1998.

The DIS continues to be committed to providing a place where Disney Cruise discussions of all types are welcome and encouraged. We will no longer provide opportunity to solicit DIS members for other forums/social media. This includes direct links, "search" instruction, PM and email contact.

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, search directions) and we expect that those who have posted such links/offers will remove them.

In line with other Cruise forums, the DIS Webmasters have instituted a new policy -

Thanks in advance for your cooperation."

JackieV I would love to give you some in depth answers, but it's late and I'm tired. So I'll give you the short version for now. Pirate night can be really fun. The menu can be hit or miss, some love it, others not so much.

There is technically no "formal" night, Disney calls it "Dress up Night" so folks can be as formal as they like. You find everything from tuxes to cargo short on the men and ball gowns, to tank tops for women. Nothing is required, so it is what you make of it. Dress up night is the second night of our cruise. Pirate night is the fourth night.

We still don't know which night Disney has deemed as Halloween, but you can be sure that folks will dress up. I took a cruise last year where we set sail on Halloween night. Disney called November 3rd "Halloween" and there were a TON of people dressed up even though Halloween had long passed. I'm sure which ever night that they call "Costume Night" People will be decked out in their Halloween Costumes. My guess is that it will be night number three of the cruise as #2 is "Dress up" and #4 is Pirate night. They need to leave night #5 as a non dress up night so people can begin to pack up their luggage for disembarking.

Welcome to the group. If you want to join the Fish Extender, it's not too late yet!
