from restaraunt.com. I will end up paying 10.50 for it. I am wondering what the benefit would have been buying the Orlando entertainment book instead? I know it would have been a few $ more, but I just pd for a "gift cert" for 50% off the food portion of my bill. Is the same coupon available in the entertainment book? What other onsite/closeby restaraunts are in the book? I may still get it. Thanks!

The Entertinment Coupon for Baskervilles is for a buy one lunch or dinner entree and get one free, up to a $22 value.

I have never bought from the gift cert place... although very tempted for our Disney trip... but if its a gift certificate and the other is a coupon cant you use both? Use the coupon for the 1/2 off or whatever and then use the certificate to pay for the meal after the coupon? Just curious! STeph due with #4

From what I understand the certificate will give you $25.00 off your total food bil. I looked at the ebay auction and the way it is worded is deceiving. It says it is 50% off your total food bill. That is not correct. You can purchase these yourself at restaurant.com and you can read the details there. The way they sell them is that you pay $12.50 and you are given a $25.00 off gift certificate so essentially you save 12.50 not 50% off your total food bill. I think someone should notify the ebay web site that these people are advertising falsely. Hope this helps

With no questions, no penalties, no problems. All it took was an email. I'm thankful because I am getting a Buy 1 Entree Get 1 Entree Free in the Entertainment book, and I would have to pay 10.50 for the certificate from ebay/Restaurant.com. The entire 2003 Entertainment book (good through 11/1/03) cost me 15. (including shipping). I'm hoping we use more than just the Baskerville's coupon. Has anybody used this yet?

But I think the coupon will probably say "can not be used with any other special or offer" (even though a cert is not an offer). If the cert was a regular gift certificate with a dollar value, I would try to use both. But, the coupon is Buy 1, Get 1, and the cert was 50% off, so I don't think you would be allowed to use both. I don't want to get into a heated debate with them over it, even if I am right...

but I do plan on getting some gift certificates from them before our trip. My question is, don't the certificates look like real ones?? So how are they to know that you got it for 50% off... or do they state that you got them from that online store??? I am just curious, not starting a debate... I am just curious!! I have used a gift certificate (not from this company though) along with a coupon at Applebee's with no trouble... Stephanie

PS I guess once I did purchase a GC and see what it looked like it would be easier to tell if you could use both...

but I haven't used any yet. Once you pay for the gift cert (with a credit card), you print it out on whatever paper you have in the printer. The ones I have already bought are for $25 each. You can only use one a month at a given restaurant, and there are other rules that you can read online when you bid. No one knows what you paid for the cert. If you buy from the site, some are half-off, so you could pay 12.50 for a 25/ one and no one would know. There are only a few at that discount. I bought mine off ebay, where you can get certain ones at an even lower price. There is a $1. fee per gift cert over and above what the purchase price is. The Baskerville's certs are going for 8. and over, for the opportunity to get 50% off the food portion of the bill. Not sure of the limitations, but I think you are better off buying the entertainment book for Orlando and using the Buy 1 Get 1 Entree free coupon on there . There is a post on this board with a link to get the book for 10 + 5 shipping, and there are other coupons and offers in there.
When I mentioned debate, I meant I didn't want to argue with the restaurant over it, as I embarass easily...
I would love to know where you bought your gift certs from and how discounted they are. Could you let me know?

I received the gift certificate from Applebees themselves for a screw up, so maybe thats why. Well I am definitely going to get some gift certificates for our trip and I have the book already (just got it for $9.90, by signing up to get the 2004 book). I guess I will try and see if you can use both... but I am sure between now and when we go in October there will have been SOMEONE post that they could or couldn't use both! Steph due with #4

PS Can you tell me about this restaurant? We are looking for new ones as some we tried last year stunk :(

Just wanted to give some people who are interested in this gift cert site some info. We have used many in the past and they have all worked just fine. They do not look like a regular gift cert from a restaurant because you print them off the computer at home. When you take them into a restaurant the restaurant has a phone number to call for them to redeem them. Really you should just think of them as purchasing a $12.50 off your meal coupon b/c that is what they are. The gift certs are for $25 but they cost $12.50 (on the site that is, you could win them for less on ebay, but NEVER pay more than $12.50 for them b/c you can get them for that price right off the site). These are immediate, you don't have to wait for anything in the mail, you just print and go. Works really well.

As far as the Baskerville's restaurant. I have only been once. It was on the night of a murder mystery dinner theater show. The food was buffet style. I didn't think it was anything special, and I thought the actors were pretty bad. If anyone ever wants to do a murder mystery dinner show, than they should go to Sleuth's. It was so much fun, and the show was a heck of a lot better. (It was still dinner theater food though, so don't go expecting a 5 * meal!!)

I am looking at one of my Gift Certificates for a local restaurant that we frequent... and under Certificate Terms it cleary says:

"GIFT CERTIFICATES CANNOT BE COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER GIFT CERTIFICATES, THIRD PARTY CERTIFICATES, COUPONS OR PROMOTIONS."

I can only assume that this is standard for all certificates from Restaurants.com

Since I have yet to purchase one I didn't know what it stated... Thanks for the help... guess I have to figure which will work out better for us at certain restaurants! Steph

If you are buying the Entertainment book JUST for this Baskerville coupon, then you are better off getting the restaurant.com gift cert. The Entertainment book will cost you at least $15. The baskerville coupon is good UP TO $22.

As mentioned before, you can only use ONE restaurant.com gift cert. per month at any given restaurant.

I was thinking of going once with the gift cert and once with the coupon. We are staying at the Marriott for a couple days. so we will use the gift cert for the character breakfast and then the coupon for dinner.

The Grovesnor has a character breakfast 3 times a week: T, Th, Sa from 8:30 - 10:30 am. Adults are $12.95 and children (4-9) $5.95. They have Pluto and Goofy dressed up as Sherlock Holmes.

I have never eaten here, so can't give a review. But we are going to try it since we will be right there, the price is right and I am a Sherlock Holmes fan. Plus, the gift cert. from restaurant.com basically gets one of our adults free, so it will be a pretty cheap meal. I did call the hotel to ask about whether or not I could use the gift certificate for the character bkfst and they said yes.

The link to the hotel is http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com

Click on the Grosvenor. Then click on Dining. It doesn't really tell you much.
