Women who don't wear jewelry

:lmao: DH hates that I don't wear jewelry. He told me it would be SOOO much easier to shop for me.

I was really happy when he built me a library in our house. Now he can take me to the bookstore if he wants to give me more gifts. :rotfl:

LOL! My DH has the same issue. Jewelry would be much easier for him to pick out than the electronics, photography equipment, and plants that I prefer. We've come to a point where he doesn't even try to surprise me with big gifts - he takes me shopping instead.

I would LOVE a library! We've never had room for one, and even with the new, bigger house I'm not sure we can fit one in. I'll probably have to settle for floor-to-ceiling bookshelves on 2 walls of the office.

On a regular day I don't wear any jewelry, not even my wedding and engagement rings. I was constantly scratching my son when he was born and was also afraid of something happening to it, my mom lost her diamond, so I just stopped wearing it around the house. If I go out I will put it on, and really that is the only jewelry I wear. If we have somewhere special to go, like a wedding I might wear a necklace.

I wear my wedding band, engagement ring, diamond stud earrings and a diamond solitaire pendant. I used to wear more rings, but they have shrunk and no longer fit my fingers.

I own some "costume" type jewelry, but I rarely wear it.

I only wear small earrings. I have two pairs of siliver hoops (small) and one pair of gold.

I don't wear my wedding ring. Having a ring on my finger bothers me for some reason.

I've tried to wear jewelry and have spent enough money on costume stuff that I think is cute. I put in on me and it just doesn't look right for some reason.:confused3

I wear a simple band ring (never wear my diamond engagement ring). Always a pair of hoops and a single tiny diamond stud in my left ear which is pierced twice.

I've gone through phases of wearing a necklace and bracelet (always the same one, never changing for an outfit) but don't even wear those now.

It is strange because my grandparents owned a jewelry store whileI was growing up so I had access to a lot of pretty jewelry but no one (2 sisters, mom) aren't even interested.

I am always amazed at people who are all put together with an outfit and jewelry that "matches" and "completes" the outfit. I think the waste a lot of time and money on all that. ;) Most of the time, they do look nice though. I probably look like one of those unfinished people!

Surely I can't be the only one. The only jewelry I wear on a regular basis is my wedding ring. Very occasionally, I'll wear a bracelet dd gave me or a locket from my sister. But that's it. DH was frustrated because I didn't want an engagement ring.

I think part of it is that my ex would buy jewelry but we couldn't really afford it. I can't get rid of that part of my mind that it's a waste of money and I'd rather have the money in a savings account, KWIM? Sure I could get some costume stuff but it's just not me anymore.

When dd turned 18, I gave her all the jewelry her dad gave me so my jewelry box is now almost totally empty with just a few things I keep for sentimental reasons.

Any other non-jewelry wearing women out there?

I do not wear any jewerly. In general I do not like it. DH continues to be me earings, rings, etc.. much to my dismay. You would think after 14+ years he get on board.
The only piece I wore on a daily basis was my engagement ring, which sadly enough I lost 4 years ago when I took it off to paint the nursery.

Books are another story. I love to read and a books are excellent gifts IMHO

That's my dream..to someday have a library in my house!

It was the best gift I've ever received! Our house has a family room on the main floor and a family room in the basement along with a formal living room on the main floor. Since DH and I are the only ones living there now, the formal living room wasn't getting a lot of use. (Our family room and the attached sun room are plenty of room when we have folks over.)

It's quite a large room and DH put floor to ceiling bookshelves on 3 of the walls. It's fabulous! I even have empty space to add more books.

I probably look like one of those unfinished people!

:rotfl: Don't feel bad. I'm one of those, too.

Maybe you should be suggesting that he pool the money he'd spend on earrings and rings for a new engagement ring! :thumbsup2

The only ring I want is the one I lost. I think he should use the money to take us to disney.

I am not a jewelry person, my hubby knows the way to my heart is with electronics.

I love video games!

The only things I wear are my wedding ($20 white gold band) and engagement ring. That one was much more expensive than I normally would have ever went along with, but I think DH knew me well enough to realize that that was probably the only piece of jewelry that he would ever buy me. ;)
Every so often if I get very dressed up I will wear a ring, necklace, or earrings that accentuate the outfit. But the item usually annoys me and I take it off.

My mother doesn't wear any jewelry at all-- maybe her wedding ring and some makeup once a year-- so I know I take after her. I'm not sure where she came from though because her mother and sister wear a ton of jewelry on a daily basis and receive jewelry as gifts for every occasion. I think I'm just too cheap... er, practical.

It's funny, gifts the husbands buy for us jewelry haters. Mine knows that he can find the best gifts for me at Williams Sonoma. Give me diamonds and I'm underwhelmed. Give me a nice Global knife or some Le Creuset and I'm yours. :rotfl:

I don't wear any.. Once in a blue moon when we go out to a nice place I will put on my wedding bands but thats it.

Today at work I am wearing my $5.99 watch from Walmart. That is it for jewelry. I would be wearing my wedding/engagement set, but I had it made larger a few years ago. I had gained weight after we were married and I was sick of it being so tight that it was uncomfortable. So I had it made up a half size. Fast foward.... I have lost 51 pounds in the last year and now it is so large that I am afraid I will lose it. The last time I wore it was August. I need to have it brought down that half size again, but I keep forgetting to grab it when I head to the mall.

I own a few necklaces.... a sterling Mickey head, a gold cross, a "diamond" circle, and a few precious stone pendants. I wear them maybe a few times a year each. I own two Italian charm bracelets I might wear once a week, and a sterling mickey head bracelet I wear occasionally. My earring holes closed up more than 10 years ago when I wasn't wearing earrings due to being busy with babies. I have since given way most all of my earrings.

I own a few rings.... my grandmother's diamond, which I am afraid to wear for fear of loss, a beautiful blue topaz that DH gave me before we were married that it also too large at the moment, and a pink simulated stone (with matching pendant) that DS gave me for Christmas a few years ago, which is also too large!

More than any other jewelry (not including my watch) I wear my Disney pins. I LOVE picking out a pin that matches my mood for the day..... watch out when I am wearing Maleficent!.........................P

Count me in.
The only jewelry I wear is earrings. I don't like stuff on my neck or wrists, so that takes out necklaces, watches, or bracelets. Toe rings bother me, and I'm not into body piercings for myself. I'm not married so I don't wear any rings, but if I do get married I'd wear my rings - they don't bother me.

I only wear my wedding rings and small diamond stud earrings. It's just not something I care about. I don't wear makeup either..just some lip gloss when I remember.

That's me exactly on a daily basis. I have a lot of jewelry, nearly all of which is costume (glass, etc) and most of which I made, and I break out a necklace once in a great while if I'm actually "dressing up." That in itself is rare for me. :confused3

Oh, and I do wear my $15 Timex children's watch daily. It has butterflies on it. :rotfl:

The only jewelry I wear is my wedding band and diamond stud earrings. Jewelry doesn't really interest me, but I can spend hours browsing in Barnes and Noble and Williams Sonoma.

I would rather have more DVC points than a big diamond anyday!

Funny story about not being a jewelry girl - DH's uncle owns a jewelry store in an upscale area. The first time I met him was when DH took me shopping for my wedding set. We're looking at rings, with DH picking out one thing after another that was way too fancy for my taste. I tell him simple, so the next thing he points out is a 2 carat solitaire. At this point, I'm a touch exasperated that he's just not getting it and I tell him "I just don't want a diamond that big!". I thought his uncle was going to die laughing. He said that's the first time any women has ever said that in his store!

When I got engaged, we purposely picked out a small diamond. (I think it's 1/5 carat) I wore it to work and everyone wanted to look at it. My boss said "what a rock!" I was so insulted.

I didn't say anything, but it really bugged me. I know he thought he was giving me a compliment, but it made me wonder if he was making fun of my ring because it was small or whether he was accusing me of being ostentatious.

I don't wear much jewelry because I can't. I wear two rings, one on each hand. Occasionally I will wear a bracelet or two. But they are fairly delicate, so they are save for special times only.

I'm allergic to anything but real gold. I can't even wear much 10K gold at the same time or I will break out.

But really, I love jewelry. I would wear more if I could afford it. :sad2:

I wear lots of jewelry -- 'cause I work with preschoolers and they like to make things with pony beads, fruit loops, pipe cleaners and other "semi-precious" materials.

However, if you leave those out the only thing I wear is my watch. Buying jewelry seems like a waste of money to me, and figuring out what to wear would be one more thing to do on a rushed morning. I'm also allergic to nickel so I can only wear the expensive things, and I'm kind of tactily defensive so I don't like the feel of things like necklaces sliding around against my skin.
