I am almost 40 so I could be starting menopause? My cycle has always been 29 days, and I am now on day 40 and counting..............I had my tubes tied 13 yrs ago so I just wanna know if anyone else experience early menopause or had gotten pg after the fact.

Sorry guys! I said it was a women question!

I have two friends that got pregnant after their tubes were tied, but that was years ago. Their children are in high school now. My doctor assured me the procedure was more permanent now when I had mine tied 2 years ago.

I know I should go buy a test, I feel stupid even purchasing one, and my husband thinks I am nuts. LOL

I would agree that you'd better go get that test. Keep us posted!

My SIL (lovemickeya on the DIS) her mother got pregnant and had her tubes tied. But like the above poster said, this child is now in High School.

I hope you find out soon so you don't have to be wondering. HUGS! :grouphug:

My Mom had her tubes tied in 1980s (I can't remember when) and became pregnant twice after that. They were both ectopic pregnancies.

Thankfully NO. But I have had 1 tiny scare since my tubes were tied 7 1/2 years ago. Take a test. They told me the chances of an etopic pregnancy go way way up when you have your tubes tied.

We've got neighbors where the wife had her tubes tied and the husband had a vasectomy and she still got pregnant. What are the chances of that!

I had my tubes tied in May of 1993 and ended up with an ectopic pregnancy in February of 1994. When I went to the ER for severe pain (on a Sunday) the first Dr. assumed I was just looking for drugs. He sent me home with 3 days worth of virus meds and told me to take Tylenol for the pain. Went back on Monday evening and that Dr insisted the first one was incompetent and did a pregnancy test....it came back positive. The ultra sound showed the tube about to burst so I was rushed to surgery. After surgery the OB/GYN surgeon asked where I had my tubes tied and was very upset with how badly they were done and promised me he re-cut and tied the other tube so I'd never have to go through such excruciating pain again.

Oh my! Cajundixie I hope you reported the first doctor.
When I had my tubes tied the day after DS was born the doctor said the odds of getting pregnant were almost nil, but got even lower after the first year. Almost 6 years now and still only have 3 kids, knock wood. But if I was that late I would probably get a test anyway--it's what, $7? And it's a small price to pay for peace of mind.

OK, I took a home test and the results were...........................not pregnant. Must be the early menopause thing. Will go to reg DR if it does not return in 4-6 weeks. Thanks for the support!!!!

I went thru the same thing about 4 years ago. Felt Stupid getting one of those tests, but it was negative.:o I am now in the process of having surgery to remove my Uterus and ovaries...in other words, hysterectomy!:( I still have my IUD in there after 20 years, and they cannot get it out.
