Woman sues Disney, accuses Donald of groping

as far as federal court...i would only guess that it perhaps has elements that cross state jurisdictional lines....but i am not a lawyer so it's just a guess

wait...i just reread the newsblip...

they want it out of state court because they're afraid that a jury trial in that setting would be far more likely to yield damages to the "poor victim" of the city of brotherly insults who felt threatened by the 4'9" (probably female) hourly employee in the duck suit (scratch that...it's "magic")

they are probably more comfortable with the federal court because this case managed NOT to get filed in Orange County florida (their home court...in several ways)

but again...just an opinion

"Severe physical injury"? REALLY? I've had guys actually grab me like she is saying the CM did...no injury at all, let alone severe. And PTSD?! Seriously? She even states that after "it" happened, the CM gestured in a "my bad" kind of way. Like the Duck was saying "oops lady, was trying to pat your kids head and hit you instead, sorry". Yeah...this nutjob just needs some cash and thought this was the way to do it. I can't stand people like this.

My guess is that with such a low damages complaint, they are hoping for a quick out of court settlement on the belief it'd be cheaper to settle than to fight the case.

Kind of sad how things like that work in our legal system today.

This has to be one of the most see through lawsuits I have ever seen. What a waste of time and money for our legal system. I hope that Disney fights it in court to show how weak this really is, but I agree that they will probably settle and make it go away.

I've been in one of these costumes before and I am positive that there is no way you can grope or grip much while inside the costume. It's the same for the opposite, you can't really be touched while on a gigantic costume.
