Woman On Sea Ray Crashes Into Disney Ferry

Frankly, with the way some resort guests pilot those things, along with the water sprites and bugs and whatever else they are called.... I'm amazed this sort of thing doesn't happen more often.

No offense intended, but I've seen dozens and dozens of "close calls" on most every trip I've made.

I don't even rent watercraft any longer. Taking the "stay out of the damned lakes" thing a step further... ;)

The boat from Port Orleans goes right in front of Tree House Villas on the way to DTD. There are some spots where the river is not very wide, I doubt you could stay 50 feet away from the boat in all places on that river.

Those boats do not go very fast. She must have broadsided it, it would be pretty hard to get in front of it and stop and then wait to let it run over you.

I have been thru that area on the boat from POR to DTD and yes, some areas are small, but also, some of those areas are one way at the time, under the bridge there about half way thru the Treehouse area.

I am just stating what we were told at the marina at the GF, about the 50 feet. I don't know if it is different in the other area or not. The area between POR and DTD is a no wake zone and the drivers are supposed to go slower there than on Bay Lake.

Either way, the driver of the sea raycer was in the wrong and there is no way he couldn't have seen the larger boat. They do honk loudly when approaching more "blind" areas.
