Just wanted to post to make sure everyone was clear on this, I know I was confused.

As we all know by now there are two Wolfgang Puck Expresses. I was under the impression that the one connected to the Wolfgang Puck Cafe had the larger menu with pastas and crème brulee.

After walking all the way across from the marketplace in today's rainstorm I looked at the menu and all they had was pizza and salads. For desserts they had pre-packaged cookies and brownies. You could NOT even get a bottle of water (or any bottled drink) for your beverage. I was informed they have filtered water at the soda machine.

After talking to the cashier for a few minutes (she was very nice by the way) she told me that the menu was different at the other Wolfgang pucks because it is independently owned. I canceled my order, thanked her and walked back to the other Wolfgang Puck Express.

When I got there I looked at the menu and yes they had pastas and crème brulee.

I have to say the spaghetti and meatballs were better then any pasta I have had at the Italian restaurants in Disney (Tutto and Tony's). The bolognaise has nice pieces of onion, garlic and carrots as well as a lot of beef. In addition it came with 2 meatballs, cut in half.

The crème brulee was also excellent. I am tempted too make a few more trips here for dinner.
Too bad it is out of the way.

The bottom line is just be sure you go to the stand alone Wolfgang Puck express in the marketplace.

Thanks for the post. :goodvibes I was aware of this, but only because I check out menus before our trips.

I am absolutely certain that MANY MANY people are going to read this and thank you for saving them a LONG walk in vain! :littleangel:

At the end of our last trip, we had 5 credits left to use. We booked a condo for a few extra days off-property and we went to WPE around 9pm of our Disney check-out day and used up the rest of our credits for take out. They are great at packing to go orders up.
We got $100 dollars worth of delicious food and 4 of us ate for the next 2 days at the condo with it.

Good to know, thanks! We live 2 hours from WDW, and were planning on going to DTD for WPE for early lunch after check-in. I will make sure to hit this one. :)

Wow, the one at the Cafe must have REALLY scaled back their menu. We ate there in January on the DDP and while they did offer pizza and salads, they also offered entrees that were similiar (maybe exactly the same?) as what they serve inside at the TS restaurant. I'm talking about things like meatloaf, chicken, etc. You could also get full-sized pieces of cake for dessert. (the same stuff they serve at the sit-down side). It was a great value. I have been to the Express location on the marketplace side and LOVE it too. Too bad the cafe express has cut back their menu.

Where is this better WPE? It's been a while since I've been to DTD and I only know of the one attached to the restaurant. Is the "better" one over inthe older section over by the big Disney Store?

Thanks for pointing this out!!!!!
Holly

Please clarify the location for the better WPE. In looking at the menus listed it shows that both have quite extensive menus, but I guess this isn't correct. What is the better WPE located near? Thanks for the help.

The one at Marketplace (where the "big Disney store"--World of Disney--is) has a more extensive menu.

The one on the West Side, connected to Wolfgang Puck Café, has a smaller menu.

Thanks a lot for pointing this out - I was under the impression that the West Side one had the better menu, so you've saved me a lot of hassle!! :thumbsup2

I wanted to clarify - does WPE take a CS credit or is it a TS credit?

Also, do you need to make a ressie for WPE?

Thanks!

It is considered a counter service and no you do not need reservations. It does get pretty busy though, apparently people are catching on to how great the food is!

I was there in August and in my opinion it was nowhere near as good as it used to be. If I go back (and I won't be rushing to do it) I will not order pizza again.

Thank you! I'll be adding to my list of CS restaurants

Mental note - skip the pizza :)

:goodvibes

Thanks for letting us know, I would of wondered the same thing when we go.

I made another visit and I wanted to second the opinion on the pizza.
It was not very good.

I had the meatball pizza and it was the same meatball (very good) used in the pasta , but the pizza itself was just too undercooked.

Any other opinions of items at the WPE marketplace would be appreciated.

We ate there the first of Oct and DH had the Rosemary Rotisserie Chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and he cleaned his plate as always its his favorite, I had the Italian Sausage and Roasted Red Pepper pizza and it was very good, had a light crispy crust. Not sure what happened to other people's pizzas. They offer frozen yogurt for dessert but the machines been broken the last 4 times we've gone. They will let you get your order and hold your dessert to get later. They do have waiters that will bring out your food to you and get you refills. We always make a point of going there--its the only way DSs get to go to the Lego store.

We ate at WPE in the Marketplace in September and had the meatball pizza, and it was delicious! It was hot, fresh, crisp. My DDs and I wanted a light lunch so we shared it...it was so good, we ordered another one!
It was late in the afternoon when we were there, so it was not busy at all. Not sure if this made a difference in the attentiveness to the food or not.
WPE is an awesome use of a CS credit~

How true. I think DS would do just about anything to get to that Lego store.

He is only a little picky, but he actually really liked his spag and meatballs at WPE.

I love the Chinois Chicken Salad and the BBQ chicken quesadilla. We had frozen yogurt and creme brulee for dessert. They even put candy toppings on the frozen yogurt.. yum!
